Yin Sha would be happy as long as she could make a fool out of Ai Chu or make her suffer.
She felt that with Ai Chu’s current status, even if she suspected her afterward, she wouldn’t be able to retaliate.
Besides, Yin Sha didn’t even consider the possibility of Ai Chu retaliating against her. It was one thing if Ai Chu could retaliate, but as for herself, she felt that her life couldn’t get any worse, so what was there to be afraid of?
She just wanted to make Ai Chu’s life worse than her own.
This pure hatred began in the earliest days when she inadvertently started comparing herself to Ai Chu.
Ai Chu had a good fortune and was born into royalty, so she grew up with a silver spoon and enjoyed everything since her birth. On the other hand, she was a lowly maid who had to be subservient to Ai Chu.
She wanted to marry a rich and powerful nobleman, so she had to scheme and think of ways to achieve her goal. Yet, Ai Chu easily got engaged to the empire’s emperor without having to lift a finger.
The jealousy and unfairness she felt had only waned a bit after she hooked up with Luo Lang, Ai Chu’s beloved painter, and ordered Ai Chu about like a servant.
If she herself wasn’t leading a good life, why should Ai Chu be well off?
Yin Sha gritted her teeth as she recalled those memories.
But now…
Ai Chu was still the same high and mighty princess from her memories, yet she was still as humble as the dust, like an ant kowtowing at the former’s feet.
Yin Sha glared at Yu Chu with uncontrollable hatred as she dragged her frail body forward. Karl was about to block her but was stopped by Yu Chu.
Karl bowed his head and stepped back. With a faint smile on her face, Yu Chu asked, “What do you have to say?”
Yin Sha sneered. She drew closer and whispered, “Looking at the current situation, it seems that you have managed to climb up the ladder and clung to the emperor, huh? I have really underestimated you, you immoral woman.”
Yu Chu’s gaze stirred slightly, but she didn’t bother to retort.
Yin Sha’s voice was tinged with resentment as she continued, “That’s right! I did it, but do you have proof?! Even if you’re the emperor’s woman, you still have to have evidence to kill someone, right?”
Yu Chu cast her a sidelong glance.
Yin Sha seemed convinced that Yu Chu had no evidence, so she continued glaring at her, her eyes brimming with hatred.
Yu Chu took a step back and smiled slightly. “You are, after all, someone who has followed me for many years, so how would I bear to kill you? I will arrange a good accommodation for you.”
Yin Sha was stunned. She didn’t know why, but looking at Yu Chu’s gentle smile, her heart unexpectedly sank.
Yu Chu retracted her gaze and turned to look at Sasha, calmly stating, “It’s her. According to the law, how should she be punished?”
Sasha’s pupils shrank. “I don’t know what you are talking about. You want to convict me of a crime? I don’t know anything, so isn’t it very biased of you to convict me like this?”
Yu Chu swept a glance at her.
Sasha was startled by her look.
Karl at the side acted as if he hadn’t heard Sasha’s words and waved his hand to two of his subordinates. “Use torture.”
The knights expressionlessly saluted before dragging Sasha away.
Only then did Sasha realize that she was too naive earlier.
Did a prisoner of war even have the right to cry for justice? Evidence? Even if she was really innocent, as long as the princess gave the order, she’d still be sentenced guilty and carry that sentence for the rest of her life.
Sasha no longer struggled and merely fixed her gaze at Yu Chu.
Yu Chu stood there composedly with a smile plastered on her face as she stared back at Sasha, her black hair coiled like a cloud. She was like one of those mythical goddesses who possessed the ability to charm anyone on sight.
Sasha suddenly licked her lips. Seemingly no longer caring about her situation, she revealed a smile and said, “You are truly beautiful.”
Yu Chu looked at her.
Sasha licked her lips again and added, “How I wish I could witness the scenery underneath your clothes…”
