Holding Ji Chen’s hand, Yu Chu felt her heart warm up. She took a step forward and was about to leave when someone suddenly called out to her from behind. “Miss, please wait a minute…!”

Yu Chu turned around and saw an old man with grizzled hair and a goatee. Dressed in old-fashioned attire, he gave off an otherworldly aura.

He looked somewhat familiar. Yu Chu then recalled that she had seen him in the subway.

When she boarded the subway, she swept over the crowd and saw him, but she didn’t take note of him then.

His outfit and temperament made Yu Chu subconsciously frown. She guarded Ji Chen behind her and calmly asked, “Is something the matter?”

The old man narrowed his eyes and sized her up. He then heaved a deep sigh. “Miss, you are frequented by something, aren’t you?”

Ji Chen’s gaze darkened, but he didn’t speak.

Yu Chu, however, was very calm. Holding Ji Chen’s hand in hers, she replied, “No, I’m not.” Then, she turned around to leave.

Seeing her walk away, the old man called out to her again, “Hey, wait!” He didn’t expect her to leave like that, so he quickly followed suit and blocked her path. “Miss, I’m not a scammer. Please hear me out. It won’t take too much of your time. Looks like you aren’t aware of this, are you?”

Yu Chu frowned, “Aware of what?”

“Did anything strange happen around you lately?” the old man asked. He then eagerly continued, “For example, when you were doing things, did you feel like you had God’s assistance…? Or, did anyone, those who approached you or bore malice towards you, inexplicably got injured?”

Yu Chu pursed her lips. She realized that this old man wasn’t someone simple. She cautiously asked, “Why are you asking this? What are you trying to say?”

Seeing that Yu Chu hadn’t revealed anything even after he’d opened up the topic, the old man couldn’t help but worry. He heaved a deep sigh and said, “Miss, I’m also saying these things for your own good. You are frequented by something, and his presence will affect some of your luck, such as luck in lo—”

Yu Chu smiled and cut him off. She shook her head and said, “Sir, you are overthinking things. As for things like luck in love… I don’t care about those things. Even if I don’t have that, it wouldn’t matter.”

Ji Chen hugged her. He leaned over and planted a kiss on her cheek.

“This…” The old man didn’t expect her to react this way. He was dumbfounded. “But, Miss, you are a normal human being, being entangled with that one, you will eventually…”

“If there’s nothing else, I’m leaving.”

Yu Chu remained indifferent. She raised her hand and pulled at her collar, as if she was pulling something invisible away. She nodded at the old man before turning and walking away.

Ji Chen extended his hand and hugged her again. He beamed at her, his gaze tender as he asked, “You truly never thought of abandoning me?”

Yu Chu looked at him and asked in return, “Why should I abandon you?”

“I’m a ghost after all.” Ji Chen embraced her and tenderly continued, “When we met for the first time, you said that you would help me fulfill my wishes. Later, I said that I wanted to be with you, and you agreed to be with me, but… I’m a ghost. I’m…afraid you will abandon me one day.”

He lowered his gaze and whispered, “I will control my temper, and I won’t give you any trouble in the future. I won’t look for trouble, I’ll be good and won’t tease you when someone is around, and I’ll listen to whatever you say. You…”

He puffed out his cheeks and added, “You…mustn’t leave me.”

Yu Chu froze. She didn’t expect Ji Chen to have this vulnerable side underneath his well-behaved and cute appearance.

She softly responded, “You said this before. When alive, you’ll be my man…”

Ji Chen looked up at her. His eyes were sparkling as he finished her sentence for her, “And, when dead, I’ll be your ghost. Mhmm, I’m all yours.”

All yours.
