Ji Fanyin’s social anxiety disorder had improved significantly after the fantastical experience she had through the other ‘Ji Fanyin’, but even so, she avoided socializing wherever possible. Not to mention, she had been so busy recently that she didn’t have time to surf the web at all.

In fact, it was from others that she learned that she had become the youngest ever fellow of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

“This won’t do. We have to celebrate this joyous occasion!” Zhang Ning spoke with charismatic decisiveness that left no room for negotiation. “I’m already on my way to the Chinese Academy of Sciences. I’ll be waiting as long as it takes for you to come out.”

Ji Fanyin froze up upon hearing those words. She glanced at her research assistant, who was holding up her phone for her, and saw that the latter was on the verge of bursting into laughter.

Ji Fanyin sighed softly. She took off her gloves and said, “Alright. I’ll be coming out in twenty minutes’ time.”

“Good. Hurry up.” Zhang Ning hung up the phone.

Ji Fanyin meticulously explained the remaining tasks to her research assistant before she changed her clothes and left the research center.

As soon as she walked out from the research center, Zhang Ning honked at her from the road.

Ji Fanyin walked over and opened the car door, only to find that it was crowded inside. There was Zhang Ning, Li Mingyue, and Cheng Lin.

No wonder Zhang Ning isn’t driving her usual two-seater race car.

As soon as Ji Fanyin got in, Zhang Ning stepped down on the gas pedal and drove off. From the back seat, Li Mingyue spoke with a serious voice, “I finally have a friend who is a fellow in the Chinese Academy of Sciences.”

Ji Fanyin fastened her seatbelt before she turned around with an embarrassed smile and said, “And I have a friend who is the CEO of one of the Top Thirty International Companies.”

Zhang Ning joined in the fun from the driver’s seat. “What about me?”

“Hm…” Ji Fanyin spent a moment in thought. “I also have a friend who dominates half of the entire film industry.”

Cheng Lin snorted from the back seat, “What about me? I’m practically a rent-collecting salted fish compared to the rest of you.”

“And you’re the very first friend I made in my life,” Ji Fanyin replied without any hesitation.

Cheng Lin was stunned for a moment. She awkwardly propped her chin up on her arm and looked out of the window as she murmured, “Hmph. You sure have a way with words.”

Li Mingyue knocked on her head and teased, “Please. You’re already an old woman, but you’re still as haughty as ever. We don’t buy that anymore.”

Cheng Lin wasn’t one to be taken advantage of. She immediately retaliated by tickling Li Mingyue. Zhang Ning merrily fanned the flames under the pretense of mediating between them.

Ji Fanyin watched their tomfoolery before leaning on her chair and chuckling to herself. She felt that she was really living a wonderful life now.

I pray that the other ‘Ji Fanyin’ who brought me this miracle, is living a life as good as mine, if not better.
