Lu YunFei had bought this cake for Bian JinYuan, but he was afraid that Bian JinYuan wouldn’t accept it if he had just given it to him without any reason, and so he had to set the scene first. After paving the way, naturally he had to restore his original intention.
“You’re treating him so well. What’s the situation between you now? Are you getting along harmoniously?”
“Yep, he’s even started to monitor my vocabulary memorisation, I can’t not treat him better.”
“Fei, I could also monitor your vocabulary memorisation.”
Lu YunFei sneered, “Forget it, you don’t have the stamina. You’re the type to spend three days fishing and the next two days sunning your net, I don’t care for that.”
Li YuanQing rubbed his nose in embarrassment, “It is human nature to choose leisure over hard work.”
Lu YunFei shot him a glare and took the large cake with him as he went back to his seat.
Not long after he sat down, Bian JinYuan entered the classroom and got a surprise upon seeing a large cake on his desk. He looked at Lu YunFei to see that he was sprawled asleep on the desk, and so he sat down and didn’t call out to him.
Lu YunFei wasn’t actually asleep. Feeling that someone had sat beside him, he turned his head and stretched as he sat up.
“Do you want to eat cake?” He asked Bian JinYuan.
“No,” Bian JinYuan said.
Lu YunFei moved the cake back to his desk and cut out a slice to place it in front of Bian JinYuan, “Eat, my treat.”
“I don’t like to eat sweet things.”
“This isn’t too sweet, it’s chocolate-flavoured and quite delicious. Li YuanQing even ate two slices in one shot.”
Bian JinYuan turned to look at him. Lu YunFei wasn’t deterred and urged, “Eat, class is starting soon.”
After saying that and seeing how Bian JinYuan made no move to eat, he added purposefully, “Did you want me to feed you?”
The girl sitting in front of them who was drinking water choked and coughed for a long time.
Bian JinYuan found it difficult to refuse such kindness, and could only take a fork to poke a slice out.
Lu YunFei asked expectantly, “How is it, delicious?”
Bian JinYuan nodded.
“My jie ordered it for me,” Lu YunFei unhesitatingly threw the pot# over to his sister, “She said that I would like it.”
“Then do you like it?” Bian JinYuan asked.
“I do. I also think it’s quite delicious, otherwise would I have let you try it?”
Bian JinYuan shot him a look. Lu YunFei said smilingly, “Would you like more?”
“It’s enough.”
“Then let me know if you’d like to eat more.”
“Mmm.”
He said that, but Bian JinYuan didn’t ask for more after finishing off that slice.
Lu YunFei guessed that he wouldn’t want more, so after school he cut the leftover cake into four slices and split them up into four boxes which were provided by the cake shop. He gave two boxes to Bian JinYuan, one to Li YuanQing, and one for himself.
Bian JinYuan didn’t want to accept it, but Lu YunFei unabashedly said, “I’m bribing you. When you test me on spelling after the National Day holiday, please let me off easy.”
“Then all the more I can’t accept it.”
“Then treat it as a teacher’s day present that I hadn’t had the chance to give earlier. The main thing is that Li YuanQing and I are going out to play later and it won’t be convenient for us to be carrying cakes. If I didn’t think that you’d have difficulty carrying them, I’d have also given you my slice.”
Bian JinYuan was virtually defeated by his words. Lu YunFei looked at him with a face full of smiles, “Goodbye teacher Bian, happy National Day teacher Bian.”
Bian JinYuan was unable to say anything back and could only wish him a happy National Day.
Lu YunFei carried the cake and went off with Li YuanQing, taking the car home. He guessed that Bian JinYuan would give the two slices of cake to his didi and mum. If he had known, he’d have given him three slices, he thought. However Bian JinYuan would probably refuse if it were three slices. Forget it, he’d treat him another time.
As expected, when Lu YunFei possessed the Tmall Genie, he saw that Shuang Shuang and Bian Jie were eating cake. Probably because it was a holiday, Bian JinYuan wasn’t in a hurry to do his homework. Instead, he was talking to his family.
“So this cake was given to you by the classmate whom you made memorise vocabulary?” Bian Jie asked.
Bian JinYuan “Mmm”-ed in reply.
“Your classmate treats you pretty well.”
That’s true, Lu YunFei was very pleased with this compliment. He’s such a kind person, he treats everyone well.
Bian JinYuan heard this and nodded, “He’s quite nice.”
“Then you’ve got to properly monitor his vocabulary memorisation.”
“Monitor,” Shuang Shuang added while eating cake.
Lu YunFei looked at them. Aunt and didi, you’re eating my cake and treating me well in this manner?
Bian JinYuan seemed to think similarly to his family, “Of course.”
Lu YunFei heard him say that and harboured a small hope towards English. My dear you better not be like Li YuanQing, three days fishing two days sunning your net~
On the first day of the National Day holiday, Wen MingYi called Lu YunFei over the phone to tell him that he saw Bian JinYuan selling cakes. Lu YunFei was just playing games with Li YuanQing. Upon hearing this, Lu YunFei immediately discarded Li YuanQing and asked curiously, “Where? Where is it?”
“Xi Yi road, I’ll send a location, you come over.”
“Sure, wait for me.”
Lu YunFei changed his clothes and got his driver to send him over.
Wen MingYi was sitting at a bicycle stand and drinking milk tea. He was good-looking, but not in the way that Lu YunFei had a sunny disposition. His looks ran more towards the aesthetically beautiful, therefore he attracted quite a number of girls who would either surreptitiously or directly turn back to look at him.
Wen MingYi didn’t mind all that. He waved the milk tea in his hand when he saw Lu YunFei and asked, “Want a sip?”
Lu YunFei waved his hand, “Where’s Bian JinYuan?”
Wen MingYi rubbed his chin and pointed to a cake shop nearby, “It’s right there. I was just about to enter to buy a drink, and got such a surprise that I went to another shop instead.”
“He didn’t notice you?”
Wen MingYi shook his head, “He didn’t. I’m just that agile.”
While the both of them talked, they saw the door of the cake shop open and a few girls hurried out. Some even looked back at the shop with worry. That was when he felt that something didn’t seem to be right.
“Let’s go take a look,” Lu YunFei said to Wen MingYi.
Wen MingYi bit his straw as he walked over with him. When they opened the door, the both of them heard someone shout, “You’re denying it! Then please explain how this mosquito appeared while I was eating? Look, open your eyes wide. There’s even some cream here!”
As he said, the person also slapped the cashier table a few times.
Lu YunFei and Wen MingYi didn’t expect such a situation to unfold. They looked at each other and then heard a female voice state matter-of-factly: “Sir, that’s impossible. Our hygiene standards have been checked, and we’ve never seen this type of mosquito before in this store. Perhaps the mosquito had dropped into it when you were eating at home? How about this, we’ll give you a new cake, are you okay with that?”
“Are you fucking looking down on laozi, does laozi want a cake, laozi is now so disgusted by your actions and have lost my appetite for cake.”
Bian JinYuan heard his nonsense and couldn’t help but raise his brows. The girl beside him pulled him and warned him, “Don’t be impulsive, listen to Liu jie.”
Wen MingYi and Lu YunFei stood at the door . They weren’t in Bian JinYuan’s line of sight and silently observed the situation in front of them.
