Chu Chuan went to the dorms.

He was still wearing the basketball shirt, his t-shirt hanging on his shoulders. As his patience was about to run out, a voice came from within, bringing with it a faint accent foreigners have when speaking Chinese, “Coming, coming.”

The door opened and a head of shining blond hair entered his eyes. The man saw him and raised his brow in shock, “Yo, looking for Jiang?”

Chu Chuan made a small sound of acknowledgement, “Where is he?”

Evan giggled and grabbed his own hair, “Such a terrible coincidence, he isn’t here.”

“Where did he go?” Chu Chuan frowned.

“Him?” Evan leaned against the door frame lazily, “Since you rejected him… he probably went to find his ex?”

“Ex?” Chu Chuan asked, “You’re telling me he went back to America?”

“Nonono.” Evan shook his finger, “According to what I know, Jiang’s ex is Chinese.”

Chu Chuan looked at him in disbelief, turning a blind eye to his words and called Jiang Yi—

Both times he was on call.

His eyes darkened. Pursing his lips, he turned around and left, not realising that his footsteps had quickened.

Evan closed the door and sent Jiang Yi a message, “I heard there was a saying in your country: a drop of water shall be returned with a burst of spring?” (t/n: a small act of kindness must be returned tenfold)

Jiang Yi didn’t see Evan’s message.

Zhong Yu told him, “Chu Chuan looked like he was in a hurry, he didn’t even have time to change out of his clothes before leaving.”

    In a hurry? Why?

Was it because Chu Jia Ri didn’t go either?

“Though he did say he’d come for the celebration at night.” Zhong Yu added.

Jiang Yi made a sound of acknowledgement, suppressing the anxiety in his heart and followed Zhong Yu and the basketball team away. Jiang Yi called Chu Chuan twice while they were buying drinks in the Milk Tea shop but it didn’t go through.

Then he forgot his phone in the shop after leaving and only remembered two hours later. He could only trace his steps back to the shop to look for it. When he got there, he shot for the girl working at the front desk and asked if she’d seen his phone.

The other stared for a second before raising a black phone and asking, “Is it this one?”

    “Yes.”

“I’m sorry. Because your phone kept ringing, I was worried you were calling to find your phone and answered once for you…” The cashier girl raised a finger, pointing behind him.

“Kept ringing?” Jiang Yi unlocked his phone and didn’t see her action, “Who kept calling me?”

    “I did.”

As the familiar voice floated into his ear, Jiang Yi snapped his head back and found Chu Chuan standing behind him. He had tightly pursed lips, his shirt was crumpled and his complexion looked terrible.

Jiang Yi followed the other to a corner.

He subconsciously lowered his volume and asked, “You… were looking for me?”

“Where did you go? Why weren’t you at the basketball match?”

    Jiang Yi’s expression froze.

Chu Chuan frowned, “Met up with your ex and didn’t have time?”

    “……”

He reacted a beat later, lying without thinking, “Sorry Chuan ge, I overslept!”

Chu Chuan looked at him with a complicated expression.

He touched his nose in embarrassment, “It’s true.”

“Did you know, Jiang Yi, that you like touching your nose when you’re lying?” Chu Chuan pinched his jaw, “How am I supposed to believe you like me when you’re like this?”

Jiang Yi’s eyes widened, a look of disbelief appearing on his face.

    “Are you even listening?”

“Of course I am.” He nodded, still confused. Joy slowly appeared on his face and his entire body was almost stuck to the table when he probed, “…What do you mean with this, Chuan ge?”

Expectation and happiness mixed into his voice.

    “……”

“Oh I didn’t say anything just now.”

    “…Chuan ge, I heard it.”

“You clearly said it, Chuan ge.”

    “Chuan ge—”

    “…”

    “Can you shut up?”

Jiang Yi slammed the table in frustration, “Holy shit are you still a man?! Can’t you be clearer with your words?!”

“You may never hear the words you want to say again.” Chu Chuan laughed.

    “…”

    So frustrating ugh.
