I looked up at the sky from the forest.

Of course, I wasn’t just looking at the moon. I was watching the two colliding gods above me.

I was observing them to time my take-off.

“……!”

The strength of the wind buffeting me told of the violence of their fight. The trees around me had already fallen over with loud creaks.

I was ready to go at a moment’s notice. Spear in hand, mind ready, power in my legs. However.

…Now’s not the right time.

I wonder why. For some reason, that was all I could think of, not wanting to move.

Perhaps it was worry…

Worry for the others, whom I had left behind in that place the monsters were trying to break into.

– That was certainly a part of it, I concluded.

However, I had used the magic ‘Holy Shield’ to help out with Mr. Soleil’s magic barrier.

Also, while they might still have only been children there were many students from the magic knight academy there. They were all elites with promising futures. Alice was there too. Kraim too–

“Calm down, calm down.”

It’ll be all right. Kraim made me a promise when I left, after all.

‘Go on then. I’ll protect your lady and the goddess Athena with my life.’

I had decided to believe in him.

And the royal knights are also on their way here. Even sis is–

I took a deep breath.

I knew. Yes, I had worries. But they were worries about an indescribable something.

It wasn’t my imagination. Neither was it a hallucination.

I – was at a crossroads.

One misstep, and everything would end. That was what it felt like.

So, I surmised:

First, I would save Fenrir.

That was not going to change.

The golden light of the pair lighting up the night sky.

Actually, I could see it more clearly from where I was standing.

It was far up in the sky, but its size was so big I could hardly believe it.

The divine beast, Fenrir, its four legs thicker than huge trees. What was more, it was fast. I could tell even from a distance. It was dangerous.

And yet, it was on the defensive, never having a chance to attack.

In other words, the goddess Astaroth was even worse news than Fenrir, who was already bad enough.

That just showed the difference in their status as gods.

Gods’ power in this world came from belief in them… actually, to put it even simpler, it came from ‘knowledge of their name’

The more famous a god was, the larger their advantage in battle.

And the goddess Astaroth was way too well-known.

“That’s… likely it.”

I had come to a conclusion.

She was one of the gods who had saved the world from the demon king Satan.

What could I even do to such a god.

Problem: Athena’s wish. To save Fenrir.

Solution: To kill… the goddess Astaroth…

Wait no, what would even happen if I did that? My name would fall into the mud. Well, it already is, but the two aren’t even comparable.

But just that would be fine. …In the worst case, it would mean the end of the Astorio family.

And what led to that conclusion was–

“………haha”

I began laughing.

Since when did I have that much confidence.

It was almost as if–

–I could kill Astaroth whenever I wanted.

I looked up at the two gods.

I saw the divine beast, its black fur standing on its end as it let out a low growl.

It tried to hit Astaroth with its tree-trunk-like legs, closing its eyes in pain from the counterattack.

…It doesn’t look like that to me yet. Fenrir? Are you crying?

I felt the magical power around Astaroth swell up.

…Now.

I got ready to jump, power surging through my whole body.

I had a stray thought… A silly one, I’ll give you that.

…What if I went just a teensy bit further?

I steeled myself.

Time to jump. Even though I’ve never gone up that far.

But it’ll be fine. I can do it.

I can–

“– do it…!”

–– I jumped. I focused all my power into my legs, then unleashed it.

Everything blurred.

I was going so fast the moon looked like it was falling.

I stretched out my hand, aiming straight for the goddess.

“Hmm? Why are you here, Yuno-kyun–”

I grabbed her face with my right hand.

“Goddess, if you could come with me for a moment.”

I then used wind magic to speed up, out of sight of people.

“You…! What do–”

I could tell Fenrir was surprised.

However, before I could hear the rest–

I crashed into a mountain, grabbed-goddess-first.

The shockwave from the collision made me close my eyes for a split second.

My ears were still ringing from the explosion, it had probably damaged my eardrums.

I opened my eyes.

There was dust everywhere. The moonlight lit it up creating a mysterious atmosphere.

–– Eyes red like blood stared at me.

“…Ahaha, you surprised me, Yunoo”

Astaroth slid her hands up my arm, intertwining them, her eyes shining as her cheeks reddened for some reason.

“You wanted to meet me too? I wanted to meet you. All I’ve been able to think about is you, only you.”

I didn’t answer.

Still… this scent.

It was a sweet, sweet scent.

“Still, there’s no need to rush like this, is there? Don’t you have something you need to do?”

Her cold hands caressed my cheeks.

“…Something I need to do?”

“That’s right. The stampede in the forest. Only you can stop it. Right?”

…I wonder. Well, the one who caused it in the first place is probably…

And there’s Athena’s request.

“That’s why I…”

“No, that’s wrong. You came to meet me.”

Her red, crimson eyes were right in front of me.

“To meet you…?”

“Yes. Tonight, you’ll become a hero – a god.”

…he-ro…god…?

“But you were so scared. Isn’t that right?”

I nodded

As I did so, Astaroth-sama’s sweet breath enveloped me.

“All right. I’ll do whatever you want. I am yours.”

Her cloudy, red eyes. Her pale white yet slightly scarlet skin.

Her black and red dress was falling off.

“……”

I gulped.

Everything in front of me was mine for the taking.

“Come, Yuno. I’ll give you courage.”

Her voice was fascinating. I unconsciously began breathing heavily.

Then – our bodies intertwined.

I could faintly feel the twin hills on her chest pressing against me.

Her cold arms around my neck.

“You don’t have to hold back. It’ll be our secret.”

“Our… secret.”

…………Now then, choose:

What will I do?

Instantly, a number of choices spread out in front of me inside my head.

■ Accept the Goddess Astaroth

■ A secret, with the Goddess Astaroth

■ Offer you body to the Goddess Astaroth

Astarothastarothastarothathenaastaroth…

…that was all there was.

“Come choose, Yuno. You’ll be a good boy, right?”

Astaroth smiled bewitchingly.

I nodded with a smile.

“Astaroth-sama………I-I-”

Her too-beautiful face came closer to mine.

“I…”

That’s right. I’m–

“–– I’m on team big boobs.”

“……Eh?”

I used that moment to stab her with the spear in my left hand.

“Tch!”

With that sound of annoyance, the magical power Astaroth was releasing protected her from the spear.

––Hypnotism, bewitchment, brainwashing. Something like that, probably.

No, that doesn’t matter at the moment.

I was convinced.

“What the hell… are you”

A shiver went down my spine.

The moment I said that, a sinister vortex of magical power enveloped Astaroth.

“……Haha… Hahaha… -best. You’re the best, Yunoooo. You really are special. It would be boring otherwise… I wonder if it was undone? Or…”

She shook suspiciously.

Looking at her evil smile, anyone would be able to tell. Even if they didn’t want to.

That the goddess Astaroth – wasn’t a god at all.
