“Oooh… So this is the place?”

“Yeah. Most probably this is the entrance.”

I gave a positive answer to Alaine’s question. We were now in front of the entrance of the cave that had a high probability of being connected to the evil god. 

“Then, excuse me.”

I summoned a magic sword and used it to turn the big boulder blocking the entrance into small pieces then I went into the cave. 

“……This place is pretty clean…. Besides, I wonder where these light sources are coming from? …….Zero?”

Alaine was saying something but my mind wasn’t fixated on it at all. I just stood still, dumbfounded at the sight in front of me. 

“…….Why?”

I don’t understand. I don’t understand. I don’t understand. 

This cave, that was being illuminated by an unknown source of light before my eyes…. I was very familiar with this cave….. This was the same cave that I was in when I first came to this world… The same cave I saw when I first arrived in another world…. I always appeared in this cave. 

“………..Huh? I…. Don’t… Understand….”

I used magic to check what was lying ahead of us. Beyond this cave. This underground cave. 

Of course I understand. 

Even now, I was still running my magic continuously more than ever before, overlapping my senses. But still… The result remained the same. 

It wasn’t that my magic was going crazy. There was no way my magic would be wrong. I knew that more than anyone else. What laid beyond this was not hell. 

“Hic-”

But still…. And yet….. 

A scream escaped from my mouth and I took a step back. I was reminded of the crawling insects surrounding me. Those insects, just thinking about their shape, already terrified me. 

“Ue…”

I kneeled and covered my mouth. 

“OEEEEEEGHHHHH!!!”

Unable to bear it any longer, I vomited. 

“Zero?!”

Tears were running down my eyes and I could feel my whole body shaking.

“Ah….. Ah….. Ah…..”

I couldn’t even speak properly nor form any coherent words. My mind was filled with the thoughts of those insects. The insects that were crawling all over the place. The insects that were crawling up my arms…. The insects in my mouth.

“Are you alright?!”

Alaine kept on rubbing my back. She wasn’t even the least deterred with getting dirty from my vomit. I felt like crying at her kindness.

“Oe-OEEEEEEEEGGGHHHH!!”

The vomit overflowed. There was no sign of me stopping from vomiting. Contrary to my thoughts, contrary to my mind, my body was honest. The fear that had been planted in me was eating me from inside. 

“It’s fine…. It’s fine…..”

Alaine kept on comforting me as she rubbed my back.
