Objectives

The gray-robed man’s head suddenly flew off, causing a commotion among the attackers. However, they are not amateurs and quickly launch a counterattack.

“Sorry, but you guys will have to wait your turn,” I say as I activate “Recognition Obstruction Anti-Perception” and “Invisibility” once again. This is to “Appraise” the remaining 17 individuals with significant reactions from my “Search” without being disturbed by these attackers.

After appraising all 17 of them, I use short-range teleportation to move to the next person with the highest danger level. Though the magnitude of the “Search” response is equal to their level, levels are just an indicator of strength, and being high level doesn’t necessarily mean danger for everyone.

This person is a woman in her early 30s with eye-catching blonde hair and a daringly revealing leather bondage armor more noticeable than her hair. She is level 443 and her skill set leans more towards an assassin than a scout. Since she can use “Recognition Obstruction” and “Teleportation Magic,” I don’t want her infiltrating the villa.

As I release “Recognition Obstruction” and “Invisibility,” the woman immediately notices me. “You!”

She attacks promptly, as expected of someone in the 400-level range, but her movements are too slow. I swing my sword at a speed beyond her ability to react and take her down in one blow.

Next, I prioritize assassins and magicians to eliminate. I take down the gentlemanly man in his 40s with a silk hat and mustache and the inconspicuous man in his 20s with long bangs, both assassins, due to the same reason as the woman. As for the magicians, there’s a woman in her 20s wearing a pointed hat, fitting the image of a magician, and a tall, abnormally skinny man in his 30s, and a man in his 20s with three white eyes who had a sardonic smile. I defeat all of them before they can retaliate.

Once I’ve cleared the assassins and magicians, I go on to defeat the others in order of their high levels. I repeat rapid movement and short-range teleportation to slip through the crowd of enemies.

“You suddenly appear like that!”

“Do you really think you can win against this many?”

“You have quite the guts to come and kill me!”

The remaining attackers are mostly warrior types, but I ignore whatever they say.

When I dealt with the magic-using tamer, the magical beasts he controlled went berserk, so I had to deal with the beasts first. That made it a little troublesome.

After defeating the 20 individuals who had significant reactions in my “Search,” I “Appraise” the others from above and then teleport back to the villa.

I could defeat all of them myself, but Erik is the protagonist of this battle. I don’t intend to let personal feelings interfere with the fight. After all, my objective is not to defeat the attackers but to protect everyone. There’s still a possibility of hidden enemies, and I plan to stay close to everyone.

“Arius, you were fast. Can you tell me about the attackers’ situation?” When I return to the villa, Erik is waiting in the hall. The others seem to have been informed about the attack and have gathered with the guards.

The only ones beside Erik are the maidservant and guard, Bella and Isha. Erik’s knights and the members of the intelligence unit are stationed for defense, along with the maidservants and servants who also serve as guards in the villa. I already learned their positions with “Search.”

“The attackers are still about 2 kilometers away from the villa. They are in chaos, so it might take some time for them to get here,” I reply.

“And the chaos is because of something you did, right?” Milia gives me a suspicious look. Well, yes, it is.

“I simply took care of some troublesome people. There are 20 people and 12 magical beasts left,” I answer.

The guards seem a bit restless but don’t react too strongly. Maybe they think it’s not so many after I already took down Blast and the Dragon.

“Arius, thank you. Your help makes the battle easier. But among the ‘troublesome people’ you mentioned, Duke Jordan isn’t included, right?” Erik seems to know what I did.

“No, I’ll leave Duke Jordan to you. I won’t interfere,” I assure him.

“Thanks. Then can I leave the rest to you?” Erik responds with his usual refreshing smile.

“Arius, I had faith in you, but I’m relieved you’re safe,” Sofia says with a worried expression.

“But please take a break too. We are really grateful that you’re protecting us, but we don’t want you to push yourself,” she continues.

“That’s right. You’ve already taken care of the troublesome ones, right? Erik has also asked you to leave the rest to him, so please rest, Arius,” Milia adds, also showing concern.

“Yeah, I’ll do that. Sofia, Milia, thank you for worrying about me,” I say. I wanted to thank them, even though they said they didn’t do anything.

“That’s not… we didn’t do anything,” Sofia blushes.

“Yeah, Arius, if you’re going to thank us like that, it’s embarrassing…” Milia’s face also turns red. Well, it’s natural to feel embarrassed when thanked sincerely.
