In the slumbering metropolis of Ifühl late at night, a couple, a man and a woman, were walking. The main square, where the Clay Golem had gone berserk that afternoon, looked like the remnants of a battlefield, the crystal gate, the symbol of the main square, left in a state of great devastation.

Though perhaps they ought to be thankful for the miracle of escaping with this little damage while a raid boss ran amok in the middle of town.

Stroking his chin, Glen Gallia looked around the main square lit by the one remaining street light.

‘Is this where the Executioner appeared?’

‘Yes, from what I’ve been told.’

His question was answered by Philly, the secretary standing by his side. Her hair was pulled back in a tight bun and she wore a pair of silver-rimmed glasses. She wrinkled her forehead with discontent and pushed her spectacles up the bridge of her nose.

‘Like the Jade from the Blades, why are you people so obsessed with such uncertain an entity as the executioner? There are plenty of talented vanguards registered with the guild.’

‘Because the Executioner’s hidden potential is simply too much to ignore.’

‘Are you talking about the Dia skill?’

‘We still don’t know if it is that. I’d have to see it with my own eyes. Still, it’s worth investigating. At present, I share Jade’s opinion. I want her to join the Blades.’

Philly gave a small sigh of resignation.

‘If you say so, I won’t speak out on the matter, guildmaster.’

Glen Gallia—guildmaster Glen to be exact, the senior leader of the adventurer’s guild—grinned broadly.

‘Heh. You messed up, Executioner. I’ll thank you for protecting Ifühl, but your luck ran out the moment you showed yourself. Don’t think badly of me.’

Glen held out his right hand and spoke into the blackness of the night:

‘Activate skill: “Observator Temporis”.’
