「It was punishment~」
Shia-san’s legs had recovered and we had some time before nightfall, so we decided to pay a visit to the guild. I’m a little excited to see what kind of requests I’ll get in this big city.

「There’s a lot of requests, after all」
The size of the Adventurer’s Guild made me stop in my tracks. The village where I met Shia-san… It’s twice the size of the village guild. Moreover, there were two doors, one for adventurers to enter and the other for merchants to come and go, perhaps to make requests.

As we were standing in front of the entrance, we noticed that we were already in the way and that the adventurers were looking at us sideways, so we went inside too. The inside was surprisingly normal. The structure itself is almost the same as the guilds I visited. But it’s bigger than a normal guild, though. I went to a vacant counter and asked the Oneesan at the reception desk for help.
「Good evening, I have just arrived in this city today, Yuan and」

「Yuan-san and Rinshia-san, I see. My name is Minori, and I am the receptionist. Thank you for coming all the way to the guild. Are you two in a party, is that right?」
After a brief self-introduction, we presented our guild cards to her.
「C-Rank… party?」
Minori-san looks at me and asks. I’m sure she’s confused because I’m the leader. It can’t be helped that Shia-san looks more like a leader.
「My apologies. I was just surprised that Yuan-san is so small and yet she’s a C-Rank」
I was wrong. She was surprised at how small I was. There are a lot of 15-year-olds with a C-Rank. Some of them are strong enough to reach B-Rank, which isn’t so strange, but it seems that they are simply judged by their height.

Minori-san’s voice was heard by the adventurers lined up behind us. A voice laced with contempt was directed at us, it seemed. Hmm~ I don’t think it matters if you’re in a rural area or not, because the criteria for guild rank is supposed to be fairly standardized. In fact, there are many places where there are no guilds, so it can be quite a challenge.

I think she got angry over me again. I’m happy, but it’s complicated.

The moment Minori-san stopped the fight and I felt relieved, he pushed me away. The defensive magic was deployed, so I was only slightly staggered. But instead, the man flew away. He was blown away.

Shia-san is standing still with one leg raised. It seems that she kicked him away.

I approach the man who was blown to pieces and check his condition… he is fully out of shape, but does not look life-threatening.
「I’m sorry, receptionist Oneesan. Please apologize too, Shia-san」

If I heal the man poorly, he might become troublesome again, so I heal only the injuries that might be external and return to Oneesan.

Minori-san seemed to be on our side. She hasn’t been upset by all that has happened, so maybe it really is just an everyday occurrence.

「Yes. So, will you be accepting any requests today? Most of them are escort requests, though」
Minori-san returned to the conversation as if nothing had happened. Incidentally, the man was carried away by someone who looked like a comrade with a tense face. I’m glad those people didn’t get involved either.

「Yes, since the number of monsters in this area is small, there are many requests for escorts for merchants who are heading to distant places」

There are different requests for different places. In places where there are many monsters, there are requests to defeat them. There tends to be a lot of requests to collect medicinal herbs and other products in places where logistics are not so active. It’s inevitable that there will be a lot of requests for escorts since many merchants gather in Tanza, which is a hub of trade.
「In the meantime, there are other requests available, so it would be better to check the request board. If there is a request you are interested in, please come to the reception to inquire about it!」

We left the reception area and checked the request board, but there were no requests that we could accept, so we left the guild. I think the people there were a little frightened at the time, but I’m sure it was just my imagination. We were only a C-Rank party, and there were adventurers of higher ranks than us, so a minor dispute would not normally bother them.
