The flame thunder I fired directly hit the gremlin and sent it flying. However, as I activated my skill too close, I was hit by the recoil at the moment of the impact.
“Guuuaah!”
“Rin-kun! Are you okay? I am coming to help you now.”
“I’m alright. I was just knocked back by the impact. Thanks to the protector and under armor, I received almost no damage at all.”
What hit me just now was, at most, the shock wave from my skill hitting the gremlin, so I felt strong pressure and intense heat for a moment. But, it didn’t seem like I got any physical trauma.
I’m really glad I bought my under armor and protector without being stingy.
“Rin-kun!”
“I’m okay, but more importantly, let’s kill the gremlin quickly.”
“I understand.”
“I will put up a barrage, so give it the finishing blow, Aoi.”
“Yes.”
The gremlin’s speed is hard to capture for a single person, so I will coordinate with Aoi to counter it.
“[Ice Javelin] [Ice Javelin] [Ice Javelin].”
The gremlin nimbly evaded all my ice javelins with quick movements, but that didn’t matter.
“This is the end. [Wind Cutter].”
Aoi’s skill activated and went for the gremlin that became defenseless after evading my skills.
The wind blade hit the gremlin that was unable to dodge anymore after its movement stopped, cut its body in half, and succeeded in exterminating it.
“Rin-kun, we did it!”
“Ahh, the gremlins’ speed was a threat, but I am glad that we were able to defeat them safely.”
“Although they were small, they were faster than the jaguarman.”
“Since their bodies even looked blurry due to their speed, they were definitely the fastest monsters I’d seen so far.”
Since I was together with Aoi, we somehow managed to deal with the situation even though it was our first time seeing the monster. However, it might have been pretty tough if I were solo.
“At any rate, it feels a little strange. Monsters originally from Europe keep appearing. I hope there is nothing going on.”
“Aoi, you mean this is some sort of omen or something?”
“No, I know nothing of the sort. This kind of thing has never happened before, so it would be nice if these occurrences are just happening by chance.”
Since I had been at the lowest rank until now, most of my opponents were goblins. Thus, I never once paid attention to the monsters’ origin while I was fighting. So, I didn’t feel anything until Aoi told me.
However, Aoi is a higher rank survivor than me, so if she sensed something, it is plausible for it to be true.
It’s just that the current me doesn’t know what’s going to happen nor do I have a way to deal with it so, for now, I will go home after picking up the magic stones.
Since I finished a battle, I checked my Status just in case.
“Ah! I rose to level 11.”
Although it hasn’t been that long since I reached level 10, I’ve defeated D-rank monsters recently. And it seems that I have risen to level 11 by defeating this group of monsters.
I once again checked my Status that has become level 11.
“Ah…… Don’t tell me, this is…”
