The survey of the forest that I was asked to do was to begin tomorrow.
Now that I had more time, I headed for the house closest to the forest at the beginning of the village.
It seemed to have been inhabited until half a year ago, but it was no longer in use. This was to be my new home.

Sophie was standing there. She was holding a basket in both hands with a large amount of clothes in it.

「That’s a lot of laundry.」

「Where are you going to live, Lars-san?」
Sophie asked as she sat down next to me and started washing.
「The beginning of the village. There are no buildings around. It’s a quiet and easy place to live.」

No matter how I looked at it, it didn’t seem like just like a verbal promise. Sophie would definitely come. That’s what I felt.
「If you’re going to come, please let me know in advance, because I’ll probably be away from home a lot.」
It’s not that I don’t want her to come, but I can’t just invite guests without preparation.
In my case, I will often have to leave the village to investigate in the forest, so if we don’t make plans, we will pass each other.

While the laundry was being done, we spent some time chatting about my work and what had happened since I arrived in Yang.
It’s been two days since I met her, but whenever I have a conversation with Sophie, the conversation never stops. The boring laundry was over before I knew it.
