Heat gradually dissipated in the bed chamber as Xiao Yu leaned against the chaise. He watched Chu Ning hold a wrinkled and thin shirt against her body as she called servants to bring in a basin of hot water.

Then, she sat beside the chase with her slender back to him, and her black hair flowed down her back. She dipped her hands into the bronze basin to wet a handkerchief.

It was now night, so the servants lit red candles indoors. Chu Ning looked alluring under the golden candlelight, stirring up Xiao Yu’s desire again.

He could not resist getting up to wrap a lock of her silky hair around his fingers. He gave it a tug and forced her to look up at him.

“Your Highness, let me wipe-”

Before she could finish speaking, Xiao Yu pressed his finger to her lips and leaned down to kiss her. He kissed her eyelid, earlobe, and sucked on her skin before saying huskily, “Ning, let’s have a baby.”

She quietly pinched her left finger to calm down. Then, she turned to look at him calmly.

Xiao Yu regarded her for a moment before leaning in again to sniff the light fragrance of her hair. He shook his head and said, “Nothing. I suddenly realized that we have been married for more than two years. It’s time to have a child.”

At the mention of work, Xiao Yu sunk deeper into his thoughts and gazed ahead absentmindedly. He only answered that he would leave it to her and returned to his thoughts.

Seeing this, Chu Ning quickly tidied up herself, put on her outer shirt, and walked softly out of the room.
