Side Story 6: Love Me, Love Me So

Instantly, Ashiel hugged Sienna as if rushing at her.

He was breathing heavily. He couldn’t say anything. All he could do was let her hear the beating of his heart.

“I, Your Highness, I’m all—”

“Ashiel, stop.”

Sienna smiled mischievously and pushed Asiel away, then she kissed the tip of his chin.

“Stop it, and just smile. We’re going to get married right now.”

“…….”

Ashiel was still dumbfounded. It was so cute and funny that Sienna burst out laughing.

“Be prepared for one thing. When you come back, His Majesty the Former Emperor will kick you in the shin and make you drink as if you’re inhaling.”

A playful smile danced on Sienna’s lips.

Without realizing it, Ashiel swallowed those smiling lips with an irresistible urge.

“Ah, eup.”

“Haa…”

In an instant, deep breathing was mixed. Tongues tangled in a smooth friction. The lips were clearly shared and parted, but it felt like the mind was in a mess.

It felt like he was getting drunk with the flower-like scent of alcohol from Sienna’s mouth.

“Ha…”

Ashiel let out a hot sigh over Sienna’s collarbone. Sienna shuddered and panicked, pushing him on the shoulder.

“Stop, stop!”

There wasn’t any force at all, but Ashiel stepped back a little, following the wishes of his princess.

“We have to go now.”

“…….”

“If you don’t like it, tell me now—”

“I don’t dislike it.”

Sienna burst into laughter again at the cuteness of the big Ashiel, who answered in haste.

With reddened eyes, Ashiel muttered.

“Don’t keep laughing…”

“Why? You don’t like it because it seems like I’m teasing you?”

No. Ashiel shook his head and replied.

“…My heart feels like it’s going to burst.”

It was a wonderful and unfamiliar confession.

Sienna delicately caressed Ashiel’s reddish eyes, then she whispered.

“Let’s go.”

Perhaps, when they returned, starting with the former emperor, their family and friends and even the noble council and the servants would rise up and make a fuss, saying that there was no such law.

But even imagining what would happen was fun.

Sienna pulled the lovely man’s hand as she grinned. At the same time, flower petals flew.

The garden brought the two to a temple in the border area.

As Sienna had said, the priest was so drunk that his nose was crooked. To a certain extent, he couldn’t recognize the two most famous people in the empire, the master of the underworld and the owner of the spring, so he did as he was told.

Following the stumbling guide of the priest who even staggered on the podium, the two had a clumsy wedding ceremony.

Since there was no suitable ring, Sienna took out Ashiel’s old signet ring that she always wore around her neck. Ashiel inserted it into Sienna’s ring finger with a trembling hand.

“Heh, hmm. The groom, ah, what am I saying… uh… you may kiss the bride.”

As soon as the priest gave permission, Ashiel embraced his spring without delay.

The lips that had kissed him at the moment of victory, the body that had learned joy together with him when they embraced… He felt as if the bottom of his feet were floating.

The laughter that burst so brightly the instant they kissed was so lovely that he couldn’t stand it.

All of that was so thrilling that it was beyond tolerance…

“Ashiel?”

“…….”

Sienna was not surprised by the liquid that wet her forehead and brushed eyelashes. She laughed and kissed Ashiel over his tears.

“…My poor love.”

A man called ‘love’ buried his face in the shoulder of a woman much smaller than him. Sienna patted his broad shoulders and thought.

‘I might be the type who is surprisingly weak to tears.’

Wasn’t that the worst weakness of a person who should become the monarch someday?

It was fortunate that Ashiel was not the kind of person who would want to dig a lake, fill it up with alcohol, and float a boat to play.

A wedding for two that ended in the middle of the night.

Unexpectedly, people were not surprised by the news of the robbery-like marriage.

“Well, since the person will have to carry on the lineage of the Kainosia family, I can’t think of anyone other than Grand Duke Nacht.”

“We were dreaming in vain for a while.”

“Anyway, to say you got married right away that night, the crown princess and the grand duke are truly young.”

“If possible, it would be better for the couple to have a good relationship. Soon, we might be able to see an imperial prince or princess…”

“…….”

“…….”

“Wait, is there a child in our house who would be of similar age?”

The shrewd people immediately started looking for the next opportunity.

Anyway, after the wedding that would be talked about for generations in Feyenoord, time had passed. The new crown princess became accustomed to state affairs, and her consort became accustomed to assisting his partner.

After so many languid and peaceful seasons, spring returned again.

One day. Sienna, who was sitting at the head of her desk in her office, was drowsy, unable to overcome the light sleep she felt.

Ashiel silently stole the pen from Sienna and quickly supported her staggering forehead.

“Your Highness.”

“Um… Ashiel?”

“If you’re sleepy, why don’t you go to bed and sleep?”

“Ah… Did I fall asleep again?”

“Yes, you’ve been feeling sleepy lately.”

“Sleep… I always did…”

While counting with her fingers, Sienna thought of the cause. Just then, her quiet Named clicked his tongue and said.

[I was going to wait and see when you’ll notice…]

“Hesaros?”

It was a very pathetic tone.

[Sienna, have you ever heard of pregnancy?]

“…Pregnancy?”

As Sienna muttered, Asiel’s breath stopped.

“No wait, Ashiel.”

Without a moment to stop, Ashiel yanked the calling cord. Then, the newly appointed Marchioness Gildinak immediately appeared.

Ashiel had tugged the cord so hard that it broke. He picked Sienna up and shouted,

“A doctor!”

“I’ll be right back.”

After Marchioness Gildinak disappeared like the wind, Ashiel laid Sienna on the couch for a nap.

Feeling it was absurd, Sienna tried to say something, but she just shut her mouth when she saw Ashiel’s hands tremble as he covered her with a blanket.

After a while, a rumbling group of people rushed in.

“Crown Princess!”

“Brother!”

“Master!!”

People of extremely high status but no social skills flocked to the office, and the office quickly became noisy. Thanks to that, it took some time for the doctor who barely squeezed in to examine Sienna.

After a while.

“Congratulations, Your Highness!”

The doctor, whose clothes were messed up from being dragged by the collar and hair drooping down to her glasses, exclaimed with a broad smile. And she added,

“It’s been about three months!”

Michael and Isabelle screamed as they hugged each other. The former emperor’s mouth was wide open, but he forgot what he wanted to say.

Only Empress Arandier was calm. She went to the corner of the room and threw away all the cigarettes in her pocket into the trash can.

“This…”

Amidst the commotion, Sienna muttered in shock. Hesaros would not have lied, but it was just so sudden that the unbelievable news was confirmed to be real.

“How could I not know this?”

She looked up at Ashiel, asking for his opinion, but his pale face was as stiff as a stone statue.

“And congratulations again.”

“What?”

The doctor belatedly corrected the position of her glasses and spoke brightly once again.

“They are twins!”

“Ah, you wicked bastard!”

“Ugh…!”

In the end, the former emperor yelled out loud and kicked Ashiel’s shin, which he hadn’t kicked at the time of the wedding.

Subsequently, the extremely excited Michael grabbed the collapsing Ashiel by the collar and shouted, “Brother! I love you!” And then, like someone who had suddenly come to his senses, he screamed, “But aren’t two at once a bit too much?! You father with no conscience!” and vigorously shake the collar he was holding.

Meanwhile, the Arandier let out an ‘Ah’ and commanded her subordinates.

“Go to the office and throw away all the remaining cigarettes.”

“I understand, Your Majesty.”

“There are cigarettes in the bedroom too.”

“I will definitely take care of them too, Your Majesty.”

“Master.”

In the midst of the chaos, Isabelle, who calmed down the fastest, took care of Sienna.

“How are you feeling? If there is anything you would like to eat, please let me know.”

“Uh… I would like some apples…?”

It was unknown how Arandier heard the soft reply, but she nodded and gave another order to her subordinates.

“Go and plow my tobacco plantation and plant an apple tree. Now.”

“I will, Your Majesty.”

“I’m an uncle from today!”

“Noisy! Be quiet! What’s the big deal about being an uncle? I’m a great-grandfather! Hey, hey! Make today a national holiday!”

…It was a mess that made one’s eyes spin tight even just by looking at it from the corner.

As Sienna stared at it with a stunned heart, Ashiel, who was already tattered, approached and grabbed her hand tightly.

“Your Highness the Crown Princess. I…”

Looking at her husband, whose eyes were already red, Sienna let out a blank laugh, thinking, ‘That’s right.’ Now, she felt strange when Ashiel didn’t cry.

“You shouldn’t cry on a good day.”

Sienna wiped Ashiel’s eyes. And with a friendly but raspy voice, she said,

“Isn’t that right, baby daddy?”

“!”

Seeing Ashiel’s face distort at those words, Sienna eventually explode the laughter that she had been holding back.

…It was a nice spring.
