At that moment, Shi Kaixin considered how to die alongside the other party.

This sudden recovery was just like the shackles confining his mental energy had been chopped off by a sharp blade and he was instantly in a much more relaxed state than he had been before he was affected.

Shi Kaixin smacked his lips, which were still a little sweet, “Sir? This…”

Jun Qingyu said flatly before he could ask, “It can’t be used on a large scale and it won’t always be effective. One will still be affected after some time has passed.”

Shi Kaixin nodded. That made sense. If they could use it on a large scale, they wouldn’t be trapped here.

The person outside was still pounding on the door. The alarm system in the room had gone down at the first sign of trouble, enclosing the entire room on all sides. It would take some time to break through this layer. Looking at the protective wall pounded full of dents, he didn’t know what the other party used, it made a loud noise when it collided with the protective wall.

It was only a matter of time before this layer of protection was broken.

Shi Kaixin thought for a while and said, “Sir, we…”

Jun Qingyu sorted out some of the reagents and put them into the backpack, filling them to the maximum extent possible, “I’ll hold them off for a while. Go and take these out, distribute them to those who are still alive, and simply smash them on those test subjects.”

“Not a chance.” Shi Kaixin refused as soon as he heard the first half of the sentence, “I’ll hold them off, go.”

In response, Jun Qingyu said, “They’re coming straight for you.”

Shi Kaixin was struck by surprise, “Coming straight for me?”

“Correct.” Jun Qingyu said, “They don’t know I’m here.”

Jun Qingyu hadn’t appeared openly since he came here. The original plan was to wait for Shi Kaixin to come before he went out. Now that Shi Kaixin had just arrived, he didn’t even have time to announce that he was here, so why would anyone from the Federation come to stop him?

Therefore, they could only have seen Shi Kaixin coming in and came here specifically to target him.

Shi Kaixin opened and shut his mouth, then he said, “No way, they didn’t know you were here, so they came looking for me. Should they know that you are here right now, they would definitely change their target to you.”

As soon as those words were out of his mouth, the protective wall in front of him suddenly crumbled with a bang, and energy scattered briefly in the air before it dissipated quickly.

The broken door hung precariously on the side as a man walked in slowly with heavy steps.

Jun Qingyu raised an eyebrow, eyeing this thing that was human but did not look like one.

The experiments at the beginning were more or less flawed. Still, an individual could distinguish that they were human beings on the surface. Starting from the robot by Marshal Tordis’ side, these experiments were far cry from the appearance of human beings.

Perhaps it was the pursuit of ultimate strength, to transcend one’s body, that was why it became like this.

The man looked up slowly, his face unreadable through the layers of his shell, and he only stared at Shi Kaixin with a pair of cloudy eyes.

Jun Qingyu said without surprise, “Look, I told you it was targeted at you.”

Shi Kaixin: “……”

Now was not the time for that.

Jun Qingyu straightened his mask, “Run, I’ll intercept him for you.”

Shi Kaixin appeared sluggish. Why didn’t he seem troubled in these circumstances?

The man tilted his head, his neck even made a mechanical sound as he moved, and then he charged straight towards Shi Kaixin.

Just as Jun Qingyu was about to make a move, Shi Kaixin stepped forward to meet him, and chaotic mental energy spread out the moment he touched the robot’s arm.

Shi Kaixin clenched his teeth, kicked the robot away, and his breathing became a little laboured.

The robot dropped to the ground–not feeling any pain–and stood up again without the least bit of hesitance, and swung a fist at Shi Kaixin.

In response, Jun Qingyu stood in front of Shi Kaixin, and abruptly caught the punch. His universal life energy spread rapidly the moment he fisted his hand.

The robot’s clouded eyes suddenly widened, it raised its arms to brace for a punch, and its entire body stiffened up.

Shi Kaixin’s pupils shrank violently and he shouted, “Sir! Don’t touch him! Let go! You can’t touch…Cough!”

As soon as those words left his mouth, Shi Kaixin coughed violently, agitated by the chaotic mental energy on the robot.

Yet, he saw that Jun Qingyu’s expression remained the same, not the least affected by its mental energy at all.

“Sir…you?”

Jun Qingyu did not give any further explanation. He was a person without mental energy, and attacks on mental energy were ineffective on him, but his universal life energy could suppress mental energy.

“There should be a lot of test subjects here. Find them as soon as possible and pour the reagent on them.” As Jun Qingyu handed a backpack to him, he said, “Go on.”

Shi Kaixin’s expression gradually became serene. He looked at Jun Qingyu, then looked at the silent robot–he could see the struggle and fear in his eyes. He was vaguely aware of what was going on.

Accepting the backpack, he said earnestly, “Sir, please be careful.”

“Mhm.”

The robot’s eyes were fixed on Shi Kaixin at all times until he left the room and he appeared like he wanted to struggle.

Universal life energy did not last as long as medicine and the robot would recover once he stopped dispersing it. When the medicine made contact with its mental energy, it would slowly suppress and slow down the speed of its movement concurrently, which lasted much longer than universal life energy.

However, Jun Qingyu did not intend to waste the medicine on the robot before him.

He didn’t know how many test subjects had come outside, thus he would save as much as he could.

He released the robot’s arm and it turned around without even looking at him, and ran out of the room.

Jun Qingyu’s senses were sharp, he was one step faster, made it to the door and closed the door that was on the verge of collapse. He leisurely rolled up his sleeves and questioned coldly, “Did I allow you to leave?”

The room door fell off completely. Jun Qingyu tidied up the arms and legs scattered all over the room and threw them into the junk pile in the corner. He wasn’t in a rush to leave. Rather, he stayed in the laboratory for a while longer and made more medicine before he walked out.

Shi Kaixin had gone to the left earlier, so Jun Qingyu went to the right when he went out.

Chaotic mental energy could not be dispelled in the atmosphere. He attempted to wipe it out with universal life energy, but it didn’t take long for it to condense once more.

If those test subjects did not die, then the mental energy would not be dispelled.

Both backpacks were full of medicine, which should be enough to go around.

Fu Yuanchuan’s lounge was a bit far away, and as he walked further out, he could see bullet holes in the walls and traces left by unknown weapons. No one was in the vicinity, but some movements could be heard overhead from time to time.

Jun Qingyu glanced up and found that the planet’s shield was turned on.

Before he could take a closer look, someone suddenly shouted, “Old Jiang!”

The robot was concurrently pushed out of the room. A man and a robot fell to the ground at the same time, and chaotic mental energy spread through the man’s flesh and blood. The veins on this man’s neck bulged, and he shouted through his clenched teeth, “Old Jiang, hurry up and get away from here! I–this old man–am going to die with this f*cker today!”

Jun Qingyu hurriedly stepped forward, pulled out a reagent and flung it at the robot.

The robot was restrained by the man, it swayed and couldn’t even get up from the ground. Yet, it raised its hand the moment a test tube came flying and smashed it.

The reagents splattered all over the robot and the man.

Shards of glass slashed across the man’s cheek, and he gritted his teeth and held onto the robot for dear life.

“Let him go.” Jun Qingyu squatted beside the man and handed him a bottle of spring water, “Drink this.”

The man looked at him vigilantly, “Who are you? How come I haven’t seen you before?”

From inside, Old Jiang staggered out, “How are you, Old Qiao?”

“I’m still alive and kicking, what are you doing out here?! Why don’t you hide when your life is at stake!”

The greater one’s mental energy, the greater the impact.

Old Jiang ignored him and said, “That thing doesn’t seem to be moving anymore.”

“What do you mean by not moving anymore? It f*cking kicked me twice earlier…the f*ck?” It took Old Qiao a second to realise that not only was it not moving anymore, but the power which implicated one’s mental energy on this wretched thing’s body was gone.

Both of them looked up at Jun Qingyu. It seemed like they wanted to ask him something, but whatever the case, Jun Qingyu had saved them earlier, and it would be unseemly to question him at this point.

Jun Qingyu asked, “Are you the only ones here? What about the others?”

Before Old Qiao could say anything else, a stern voice suddenly came from the distance, “Who’s there?!”

When Jun Qingyu heard that voice, he glanced back and saw a team of seven people before him. All of them wore heavy protective clothing, that should be specially designed to block mental energy. Other protective clothing would not be so thick that it impeded their movements to a significant degree.

Since Jun Qingyu remained silent, the other party inquired once more, “How many people are there? Give me your ID for verification.”

“My ID is confidential, my identity is Yuan…Marshal Fu’s aide-de-camp.” After a short pause, Jun Qingyu remembered that Fu Yuanchuan seemed to have only Shi Kaixin as his adjutant, so he silently added, “A newly appointed aide-de-camp.”

Given that they didn’t recognize him at first sight, there was no need for Jun Qingyu to reveal his identity as the Imperial Consort. In time, he would become a target if they didn’t believe him, thus he simply made up an identity.

The Squad Leader said coldly when he heard those words, “Arrest him.”

“Wait.” Jun Qingyu said, “I have proof.”

The Squad Leader raised his hand to stop his subordinates and questioned, “What proof?”

Jun Qingyu reached out and fumbled in his backpack, and actually took out Fu Yuanchuan’s token from his space.

It had previously been placed in the fish tank’s shell bed, but since he rarely lived in the fish tank after he became a human, he stored the token away in his space.

After all, this token was also involved in an important plot point in the original story, and Jun Qingyu was afraid of any mishap, so he guarded it with his life.

It just so happened that it came in handy at this moment.

Jun Qingyu inquired while retaining the token in his hand, “Do you recognise this?”

They were all stunned, and the Squad Leader fiddled with what looked like a light brain on his wrist.

He should be checking the authenticity of the keepsake. After a while, the Squad Leader motioned to them to put down their guns, and stepped forward to ask, “How do I address you?”

Jun Qingyu put away the token and said, “Fu Qingyu.”

The Squad Leader nodded and called out, “Two of you send them back, the rest of you follow me and continue the search.”

Jun Qingyu didn’t intend to go back, “What are you searching for?”

The Squad Leader said, “The Admiral has just switched on the planet partition, encompassing the area the Corps is stationed at, separately in accordance to the area. Most of the robots have been cordoned off and we are searching for any hidden robots in each area.”

Their response was swift, such that the search could be divided according to their areas to conserve time and potentially reduce the number of casualties.

Jun Qingyu asked, “What about the marshal?”

Just as his voice fell, a mecha landed from overhead, and brutally slammed into the planet’s outer protective layer. From afar, Jun Qingyu couldn’t make out any details, but it seemed different from the mechas he had seen parked on this planet.

Needless to say, he could probably guess what was going on.

The planet was in such disarray that Fu Yuanchuan could not have failed to send him a message, and since he had not seen Fu Yuanchuan all this time, the situation out there must all the more be in turmoil.

Jun Qingyu said lightly, “Never mind, I know.”

He took out his light brain to report his safety to Fu Yuanchuan, but he discovered an unread message.

Fu Yuanchuan: [I’ll be away for some while.]

The time stamp was during the time he was doing experiments. He might have been overly focused and ignored the message from his light brain.

Jun Qingyu handed the reagents in his backpack to the Squad Leader and said, “The reagents in here were developed to counter those robots.”

“If you encounter a bizarre robot, smash the reagent inside, on its body. The robot will lose its aggressiveness and mobility for a short period of time, so resolve it as soon as possible within that window time.”

“A vial of reagent is sufficient for one robot.”
