In general, this kind of agreement will be signed on a space station and they wouldn’t come to a planet in the Empire’s domain. Moreover, the head of the Federation would come here in person. Wasn’t it like walking straight into a trap?

Jun Qingyu thought of going to the space station, but he didn’t really want to go. Besides, the brothers must have much to talk about. They hadn’t seen each other for such a long time. What would he do if he disturbed their touching reunion?

Mmm…He kind of wants to see it.

He didn’t know if Fu Yuanchuan and his brother would cry on each other’s shoulders.

Just that, Fu Yuanchuan was emotionally restrained, and the probability of this kind of picture appearing was unlikely.

The more Jun Qingyu thought about it, the more he felt that he shouldn’t follow along, so he shook his head and said, “I’ll wait for your return.”

The little fish had been idle in his room these days. It was a pretty good idea for him to go out for a walk and it would be beneficial to introduce him to people on such a big occasion.

There would be a planet broadcast then, which would change the inherent impression left in everyone’s mind that the Imperial Consort didn’t care, and this would be favourable for the little fish when he handled matters in the future.

Fu Yuanchuan wanted to take the following advantage through the signing of this agreement, undoubtedly he wanted the little fish to tag along, “We’ll go together. as the decision maker of the family, how could you be absent on such an important occasion?”

Jun Qingyu had always disliked interacting with people and there must be plenty of words he had to say on such a big occasion. In the past, such occasions involving the Empire and the Federation did not require the Imperial Consort to be present.

Yet, Fu Yuanchuan wanted to bring him there. After some consideration, it seemed feasible to directly return home after signing the agreement, and he didn’t have to come back to the garrison.

With that line of thought, Jun Qingyu changed his mind, “Alright then, let’s get it over with and get home earlier.”

Considering that Fu Yuanchuan’s brother would be present, Jun Qingyu asked, “Do you need me to prepare anything?”

Fu Yuanchuan: “No.”

The relationship between the brothers would not be explained to the public in the short term.

After all, the Federation and the Empire were involved, and such big countries were always xenophobic; exposing their brotherly ties might have some repercussions for Fu Qingheng.

After breakfast, the two went out.

Shi Kaixin had been relieved of his identity as a bodyguard and waited outside the garrison in formal clothes.

The suspension car was ready to go.

The fallen snow a few days ago had melted, the only remnants left on the side of the road.

While Jun Qingyu was seated inside the car and peered out the window, he saw that several of the stores were closed and that not many people were strolling down the road. As the car continued to move, he noticed that robots were cleaning the snow from the road.

Before, Shi Kaixin said that the war was to blame for the sparse population.

Once the agreement was signed, at least there wouldn’t be any more conflicts while it was in effect, but it would not be long before it went back to the way it was before.

The suspension car pulled into the car park and they rode the lift to the top floor.

There was a battleship parked here.

Jun Qingyu had been on a battleship before and even learnt how to manoeuvre a mecha, but this was his first time entering a space station. On the outside, it looked far from a battleship in appearance-wise and seemed a bit like a sphere floating in the air.

As they boarded the station through a connected passageway from the battleship, Fu Yuanchuan silently lagged half a step behind Jun Qingyu.

Jun Qingyu noticed his movement and looked at him suspiciously, “What are you doing?”

Fu Yuanchuan looked unperturbed as he explained, “Nothing. The passage is narrow and it’ll be tight with two walking side by side. You should go first.”

Jun Qingyu had a strange feeling that something was wrong, but if he took a step back, his movement might have a great impact on the people packed behind him. After thinking about it, he let it pass in order not to delay matters.

After walking through the passage, Jun Qingyu stood to the side, waiting for Fu Yuanchuan to come out and stand side to side with him.

Shi Kaixin was at the back, serious and conscientious. He didn’t say a word; he settled their actions by raising his hand and the others behind him quickly got to work.

Jun Qingyu surveyed the hall, which resembled an expanded version of a conference room, albeit a little stuffy in comparison.

No windows were built here, and apart from the doors, the rest of the room was sealed off in all directions.

Windows didn’t seem necessary with the air circulation system in place, but as far as the eyes could see, that might result in breathing difficulties.

Fu Yuanchuan looked at the time and said, “They should be here by now.”

Shi Kaixin and Yu Zhi directed their soldiers to hasten the preparations.

The tables and chairs are all set up in advance and had been in place since the date was set. Even if the date for signing the agreement was shifted to an earlier date, it wasn’t much of a problem.

The only thing that had to be changed was the dates, which wouldn’t even take long.

For security reasons, there were no ushers here, but there were a few robots that had probably been modified in advance. These bots did not greet when they see people coming up, they stood dumbly at the corner instead.

Yu Zhi slightly raised his head, “Your Majesty, everything is ready.”

After saying that, Yu Zhi silently retreated and stood in front of the door, and the others–who were busy–quickly stepped back to Yu Zhi’s rear as well.

The space station was possibly opened up not long ago; otherwise, these things would have been ready before they arrived.

The place was still a bit messy from the last-minute revisions.

Shi Kaixin stood at the side of the table, pulling out a chair, “Your Majesty…”

Fu Yuanchuan leisurely pulled aside a chair, put his arm around Jun Qingyu and said, “Take a seat.”

Shi Kaixin watched Fu Yuanchuan’s action from the back. His pupils shrank violently as he realised something in a split second, quickly retracted his gaze and stepped back as if nothing had happened, and stood behind Jun Qingyu.

Jun Qingyu sat down and asked, “They aren’t here yet?”

Shi Kaixin said softly, “Your Majesty, the Federation ships are docking with the space station.”

Jun Qingyu nodded, “Mhm.”

Since they were docking, they could only wait.

Fu Yuanchuan straightened out the brooch on the little fish, wiped away the small traces staining the pearls, and said, “You can relax, the live broadcast hasn’t started yet.”

Hearing that, Jun Qingyu leaned his head on Fu Yuanchuan’s shoulder and asked, “How long does it take for the agreement to be signed?”

Although it was just a matter of signing and shaking hands, such a simple solution would make it seem like not much importance was placed on such a great occasion, hence most of them would include some speeches and the like.

Furthermore, it seemed that both–the Federation and the Empire–would be making speeches.

“Are you tired?” Considering that the little fish might not have much patience for such things, Fu Yuanchuan said, “Try to keep with half an hour.”

The occasion was a matter of added prestige for Fu Chengyu but the two brothers didn’t care about that.

Fu Qingheng’s time in the Empire as the President of the Federation was limited; by shortening the signing period, extra time was available for other topics of conversation.

As they chatted, the door on the opposite side opened.

The doors in the space station were facing each other; essentially, most of the time the space station was used when two hostile parties had to shake hands to make peace, and the opposing doors expressed an underlying meaning as well.

Jun Qingyu subconsciously looked up in the direction of the opening door.

The man was dressed in a federal military uniform and was expressionless when he walked in, but when he looked this way, a hint of a smile could be spotted in the depths of his eyes.

Perhaps because deep down he knew Fu Qingheng’s identity, so he would unconsciously analyse the similarities between the two brothers when looking at their appearances.

Some similarities could be seen in his eyes and eyebrows. Fu Yuanchuan, by comparison, was much more serious.

Seeing him come forth, Fu Yuanchuan said softly, “Go on, aren’t you going to greet him?”

After hearing that, Jun Qingyu got up to his feet and greeted, “Good morning.”

In response, Fu Yuanchuan stood up half a second after him.

A trace of surprise flashed in Fu Qingheng’s eyes, which he concealed calmly soon after. He greeted in return, “Good morning.”

Shi Kaixin and Fu Qingheng’s aide-de-camp stepped up to place the two documents on the table respectively, saluting each other before they turned around, returned to the back and turned on the live broadcast.

The two of them also controlled the live broadcast of the Federation and the Empire respectively.

The use of a virtual electronic document for a large event was a trifling matter. Both documents were finalised after several revisions and submissions; finalised after refining each word over and over again.

The typeface itself was unique and couldn’t be duplicated.

After sitting down, Fu Yuanchuan said without hesitation, “It’s getting late, let’s get started.”

Fu Qingheng said, “Ok.”

For some time, Jun Qingyu remained silent as he stared across the table at Fu Qingheng.

What the hell is this?

Why are you sitting opposite me?

You’re sitting in the wrong place on such a serious occasion?

You should be sitting opposite Fu Yuanchuan.

Jun Qingyu wanted to speak, but the live broadcast was on, and it would be rather incongruous to do so now.

Yet…it was much more jarring to just sit here motionless.

Fu Qingheng didn’t perceive anything and flipped through the agreement in front of him.

He had read this countless times when it was written and it was him who had chosen the final version.

""

This appeared to be just for show. Fu Qingheng was incomparably intrigued as he observed the mannerisms of the two opposite him, but it was no easy feat to ask. After the agreement was signed, he had to ask what was going on.

Jun Qingyu had a headache even looking through those pages, and what was even worse was that Fu Yuanchuan was sitting beside him, waiting for him to look through them.

What was he up to…?

The same feeling of uncertainty that he had before had returned.

Jun Qingyu didn’t read the first few pages. He wanted to hand them to Fu Yuanchuan, but someone stepped in to declare the next moment, “After reading and verifying the contents, you can sign the agreement.”

At that moment, the agreement was still in Jun Qingyu’s hands, and Fu Yuanchuan had no intention of taking it.

Fu Qingheng had already neatly signed his name.

Jun Qingyu had no choice but to hold the pen and write his name on it.

After the unilateral agreement was signed, a mutual agreement still had to be signed by both parties.

Fu Qingheng wrote his name after the word, Federation. Meanwhile, Jun Qingyu hesitated while holding the pen, but after thinking about it, he still didn’t write his name after the word, Empire; instead, he wrote down his name behind the colon with a spacing of three or four characters as he did for the unilateral agreement he signed before.

In response, the look in the depths of Fu Yuanchuan changed. Earlier, only the signer of the unilateral agreement could see it, and furthermore, he didn’t take note of how the little fish had signed.

Yet…he could see it well now.

In any case, many people had seen it. After Jun Qingyu signed his name, he pushed it directly to Fu Yuanchuan, smiled and said, “Your Majesty, please.”

Fu Yuanchuan: “……”

With that smile,  Fu Yuanchuan could sense that the little fish was angry.

“Very well.” He covered the movement of his fingers with his act of receiving the pen to brush against the back of the little fish’s hand. His real intent was to coax the little fish. He was prepared for the little fish to remove his hand, but he didn’t.

Fu Yuanchuan was powerless; even if the small fish was angry, he wouldn’t avoid him.

There was nothing he could do now, so Fu Yuanchuan signed on the spot Jun Qingyu had left out, intending to explain this to the little fish later.

The previous unilateral agreement was filled with a signature again.

Fu Qingheng got up and held out his hand.

Jun Qingyu cast a glance at Fu Yuanchuan, who reached out to shake Fu Qingheng’s hand.

In between their movements, Fu Yuanchuan caught a soft snort from the little fish.

Everyone present applauded the moment they shook hands.

There was also a burst of cheers in the live broadcast room.

Under the witness of the Empire and the Federation, the agreement was signed.

Jun Qingyu’s smile remained until the signing of the pact was completed and the live broadcast closed.
