Jun Qingyu sensed the irregularity in his words and bit his hand with a soft grumble, “Don’t blather.”

“Do you want to sleep a little longer?” Fu Yuanchuan rested headboard with a smile on his face and held the little fish in his arms.

Jun Qingyu shook his head. His fever due to the cold seemed to subside with more rest, but he couldn’t sleep, so it was better to recline here.

“Let’s get up and eat something?”

“I don’t want to.” Jun Qingyu had no desire to eat at all, he held onto Fu Yuanchuan’s hand and fiddled with it, then asked nonchalantly, “Where are we now?”

Fu Yuanchuan had an electronic virtual map of the route in his hand, and when it was expanded, the virtual image was suspended in mid-air, and their position was indicated by a flashing red dot.

“The third galaxy, two more jumps and we will be there.”

“Good.”

Fu Yuanchuan closed the map, took a thermometer and said, “Let’s measure your temperature again.”

A thermometer was more accurate than measuring one’s temperature by hand.

Jun Qingyu tilted his head up, and when the thermometer touched his forehead, his temperature was displayed.

Fu Yuanchuan looked through the previous records in the thermometer and said, “It’s coming down, you still have a fever, it should be because of the fruit drink.”

He wasn’t exactly ill but caused by the fruit juice.

“I won’t drink it next time.” Jun Qingyu stretched. It was likely a psychological effect. After knowing that the fever had subsided, he was more at ease.

While he was speaking, the battleship suddenly shook twice.

Jun Qingyu looked up from Fu Yuanchuan’s arms in confusion, “Did a hyperjump just begin?”

He remembered from the map he had seen earlier that a hyperjump would not start occurring so soon.

The moment those words left his mouth, the spacecraft encircling the main battleship shot forward.

An alarm sounded in the room as well.

Fu Yuanchuan turned off the alarm and said as he stood up, “I’ll go out and have a look.”

Jun Qingyu hurriedly lifted the quilt and got out of bed, “I’ll go too.”

The hallway was deserted with no one in sight. The number of people on board this battleship was originally few, and now that the alarm had sounded, everyone would assemble at the lounge.

In the Central Control Room, Shi Kaixin was manning the ship’s attack and several battleship pilots were also in their positions.

A virtual image of the battlefield outside was presented on the big screen.

Jun Qingyu glanced at the mecha on the screen, it should be from the Federation.

People from the Federation were coming after them?

These people were likely from the pro-war faction. The Federation had lost to internal strife and fell at a disadvantage in the war with the Empire, and the attack with the experimental robots had not ended well.

These were the few left. Did they not want to live and deliberately sent themselves here to die?

Yu Zhi had been on the lookout for the situation on the big screen. Shi Kaixin noticed someone entering, looked over and identified who it was. He immediately took half a step back and saluted, “Your Majesties.”

Fu Yuanchuan questioned, “How is the situation?”

Shi Kaixin said, “The opposition is merely one small team. Although I’m not certain if they’re the leading team, we definitely have the upper hand right now.”

Though there weren’t many of them, their enemies were fewer in number.

Moreover, their enemies only piloted their mechas to rush up in swarms, the battleship was equipped with superb attack and defence systems, and their enemies couldn’t even approach the battleship with convoys on both sides.

Jun Qingyu lifted his eyebrows. Did they really come here to die?

If only a few of them came, and the battleship blasted them, what would be left of them?

""

On the screen, the Federation’s mechas stood out among the crowd of mechas, and it appeared that they were surrounded.

However, the people from the Federation did not give up on their attack, and they seemed to be in their death throes.

Jun Qingyu could not figure it out, “What the hell are they doing?”

“They are unwilling to reconcile.” Shi Kaixin pressed a few operation buttons heedlessly, “In simpler terms, a group of proud men have fallen from grace, with no chance of ever rising again, so they’ve come here to lie low in wait for an ambush.”

Furthermore, the most important point was…they would fare well even if they returned to the Federation, their fates may be worse than death.

Perhaps they were holding onto the hope that they could change the sequence of events, and it was unclear how long they had lied in wait for an ambush.

Shi Kaixin thought that, in terms of time, these people had probably been here since the news of the Federation’s agreement was announced.

Because since then, there had been no way out.

The Federation’s mechas were surrounded.

Shi Kaixin sounded the alarm and then hovered his hand over the red button.

Before he could see what Shi Kaixin was doing, he looked up just in time to see the front of the Federation’s cockpit abruptly open, and the pilot’s face flickered with a smile.

The red lighting made a person feel dizzy, and the next moment, Jun Qingyu’s eyes went black. He detected a familiar scent, and he didn’t resist and tapped the hand covering his eyes with his fingertips.

Jun Qingyu’s eyelashes trembled slightly and asked, “What’s going on?”

As long eyelashes brushed against his palm, Fu Yuanchuan said softly, “Close your eyes.”

Jun Qingyu obeyed obediently when he heard those words and then felt Fu Yuanchuan withdraw his hand to cover his ears.

Boom——

There was a loud noise and the battleship shook violently under its influence.

While Jun Qingyu was only partially aware of what was going on, he said nothing and simply closed his eyes.

After a while, Fu Yuanchuan dropped his hand and said, “Okay, open your eyes.”

Jun Qingyu subconsciously looked at the big screen the moment he opened his eyes, many mechas were blocking their path earlier but now it was empty.

Not even a little starlight was visible, it was an expanse of pitch black.

Meanwhile, the bottom left corner of the screen showed that their mechas were landing back at the depot.

Simply put, the situation of the battle was overwhelmed by strength.

Even if they didn’t use the large-scale weapons on the battleship, they would still be no match for them.

Jun Qingyu narrowed his eyes, he felt that it had ended a little too quickly, and…a little too easily, “It’s over?”

Shi Kaixin said in a low voice, “They self-detonated.”

The self-detonation of a mecha was usually done as a last resort under extreme circumstances.

In the face of a crushing attack, they chose to blow themselves up.

Jun Qingyu frowned and asked, “Do you have any records of those people’s faces?”

“Yes, your Majesty.”  Shi Kaixin pulled up the footage of them before they blew themselves up, and in their last moments, all of them had opened their cockpits and the expressions on their faces could be seen.

Everyone had a smile on their faces like they were calmly meeting their demise, deciding for themselves the manner they would leave.

Jun Qingyu said flatly, “Send it to the head of the Federation to determine their identities.”

“Yes, sir!”

Fu Yuanchuan fiddled with the little fish’s long hair in silence and stayed out of the arrangements for this matter; it was up to the little fish’s discretion on how he wanted to handle this situation.

There was a delay in the news from the Federation and there was no telling when it would arrive.

Jun Qingyu didn’t intend to wait, so he and Fu Yuanchuan returned to the lounge first.

After being occupied for more than two hours, Jun Qingyu recovered his sense from watching this small-scale interstellar battle up close and felt his throat hurting even more.

His body temperature was back to normal mermaid temperature and it could be concluded it had something to do with the fruit drink he drank yesterday.

Jun Qingyu poured a cup of warm water and drank it, while Fu Yuanchuan tore open two packets of dried meat. He should not eat dried fish for the time being as his throat was sore.

As Jun Qingyu bit into his preserved meat, he swiped through his light brain and read a few entertainment news. He suddenly remembered a problem and tilted his head back to ask, “When we get back, do we have to prepare for an accession ceremony?”

Previously, because of the impending war, Fu Yuanchuan had not even had time to hold an accession ceremony to become the Emperor before being appointed to the throne.

Now that the matter was settled, it was natural to make up for the lack of procedures.

Fu Yuanchuan did not respond, rather he asked, “Do you want to do it?”

The empire was now his monopoly, and no one would dare to say anything even if he did not hold the ceremony.

Moreover, the ceremony was complicated and the duration from the start of preparations to the official end would take a long time. If the little fish found it too boring to follow the whole process, then it didn’t matter whether he held it or not.

Jun Qingyu said, “Of course, it has to be done.”

The title would feel unjustly conferred If something was missing. Besides, the other emperors had it, so Fu Yuanchuan must also have it.

Fu Yuanchuan agreed in one breath, “Then let’s do it.”

After much thought, Fu Yuanchuan added, “Let’s have it together with the Imperial Consort’s accession ceremony and the wedding.”

The former was not a problem, but the latter…

Jun Qingyu raised his eyebrows and said teasingly, “You want to have a wedding without even a proposal?”

The depths of Fu Yuanchuan’s eyes betrayed a smile as he looked at such a little fish and he didn’t mention the fact that they had already registered their marriage. Fu Yuanchuan went along with the little fish’s words, “Then, is it still too late to propose?”

Jun Qingyu deliberately flirted with him and seeing that he was so cooperative, he was stumped for words.

Then, Jun Qingyu saw Fu Yuanchuan get down on one knee in front of him.

“?!”

“Wait, wait a minute. I was just kidding.”

Fu Yuanchuan took out the ring he had long prepared, “I am serious.”

In the ring box, a plain ring inlaid with diamonds was quietly placed inside.
