“Come on, Lars, wake up!”

“Wake up-“

“How long are you going to sleep?”

“Uwah!?”

I jump out of bed in a panic when they all called out to me. My mom, brother, and Nora were standing next to the bed with their cheeks puffed out.

“Yawn …… So it’s morning already ……”

” “So it’s morning already”, your face. You’re staying at someone else’s place, so get a grip!”

“Yes ……”

“Get up already! Then, go wash your face.”

“Oh, yes!”

I got slapped on the butt by my mom, so I had no choice but to rush off to wash and change my clothes. I met up with Makina and the others who were waiting for me in the hallway, and on my way to the dining room, I looked out the window and saw the scars of the battle still lingering: rubble and glass.

When the battle with Emperor Griel was over, I rushed outside to find that the undead had disappeared without a trace. If Emperor Griel was right about the undead disappearing when he released the “Necromancy”, then he must be telling the truth.

There were some people who were badly injured, but as a knight, there was no damage to the townspeople, and only a few houses and flower gardens were destroyed. I heard that the Priests were doing their best.

To be honest, if Emperor Griel had used the [Demons Eye] wildly, it might have been a bit more difficult.

Well, there is the idea that it might have been a hassle because the people with the most power, Veig, Eagle & Hawk, were fighting elsewhere, and Mom and Makina and the others would have had to be taken hostage.

One night later, we helped with recovery and cleanup, and another day later, here we are. Sarge did a lot of the cleaning up, so we were able to finish the town in no time.

The problems of the country are not ours to think about, so this is fine, but there is one problem that remains that bothers me.

“Oh, it’s the teachers.”

Makina spotted them at the end of the corridor and pointed to them. Verna walks briskly, her cheeks puffed out, followed by Tigre-sensei.

“Then why aren’t you talking to me?”

“You’ll have to figure that out for yourself ……”

They disappeared towards the cafeteria. My mom, who was watching, smiled and said.

“Fufu, if Verna doesn’t tell him herself he won’t know, because Tigre-sensei looks slow, after all. Well, I’m sure he’s concerned about Verna since he came all the way here to chase her.”

“Important person?”

When Nora asked Mom, she smiled and nodded.

“It depends on how Verna-sensei feels, but judging by the kiss, I’d say it’s 50/50.”

“Lars-kun seem to be slow too ……”

“What? What did you say, Makina?”

“It’s nothing! …… Geez.”

“Hahaha, you three are in for a rough ride, aren’t you?”

Jack laughed and patted me on the shoulder, while Makina turned over, her face red. No, I’m sure Makina likes me if I’m not getting too conceited, but I’m not confident about it if she doesn’t say it clearly.

As I approached the cafeteria, chatting happily, I saw the headmaster, Flugel-san, Hawk-san, and Eagle-san.

The headmaster wasn’t very conspicuous, but he was standing around ready to follow us at any time. At any rate, since Raina-san and the others came out, they seemed to be doing their best to clean up the undead.

Even though Flugel-san and the two knights were injured, they were able to keep them at bay, which is amazing. 

“Okay, I’ll open it.”

My brother opened the door to the dining room, and breakfast began. Yesterday, I ate with Sarge at the place where we had only set up, without the king and the others because of the queen’s nursing, and at night we enjoyed the meal alone.

And when we told them we were leaving today, they came to see us at least one last time.

“I would like to thank the people of Reflexion for their help in resolving the problems in the country, starting with bringing Verna back!”

The king said, raising his glass. As soon as the meal began at that signal, Flugel-san asked the king.

“How is the queen?”

“Mhm, thanks to you, she regained consciousness last night. She was in a daze, but she remembers what happened when she was awake. Let me apologize again, I’m sorry.”

The king bowed his head, and Tigre-sensei swallowed his bread before asking.

“Are you sure that the queen was manipulated after all …… is that right? Aside from Verna, it doesn’t add up that the other princesses, who are her own children, were also sent to the dragon.”

“Yeah, I guess she still in her right mind when Verna came back. She thought that if she told them to go to the dragon, they would cry to her. When Tigre-sensei sighed, Grace-sama opened her mouth.

How could I not love him for the way he stood up to the dragon? I’ve been bickering with him since the moment I met him, but …… I like Tigre, you know?”

Verna-sensei smiles at Tigre-sensei with a blush on her face. She may seem calm, but she’s actually a very strong person. That’s why he decided to tell Verna-sensei about his revenge.

In response, Tigre-sensei made a slightly troubled face, then opened his mouth.

“…… I’m …… the children’s …… no, I’m a man too. I don’t want to fool you, I like you too, Verna.”

“Oh! He said it!”

Jack chills out and the king looks reluctant. The reason why Raina-san said it was okay at that time was because she knew about this, I guess?

Grace-sama, Shiina-sama, Makina, Nora, and the other ladies were especially salivating.

“…… I want you two to come to this country together, just once in a while. That’s the condition. You’re fine with this guy right, Verna? This man, who was called the “War Demon”.”

“…… Yes. However, if father hadn’t given us his approval, I wouldn’t have come back, though?”

The king groaned at Verna-sensei’s words. He looked so strange that everyone smiled as he broke the tension. Then, Grace-sama noticed and said to Verna-sensei.

“You just said ‘Father’, didn’t you? Look, call me sister!”

“W-What? Well, that’s not really appropriate here …….”

Verna-sensei shrugged her shoulders, saying that she had misspoken. Needless to say, after this, she kept her company until she said “sister”.

“…… Is this really the end?”

“Yes, brother. Thank you for all your hard work, everyone.”

“Yeah! I’m so glad you brought me all the way out here! But are Makina and Jack okay?”

Urka shakes my hand, waves it in the air, and says, “Oh, by the way,” to both of us. Jack replies in an absent-minded voice.

“Eh? What is?”

“No, you two came out without telling anyone, right ……? It’s been quite a long time, so won’t they get angry ……”

“Oh ……!?”

Makina raised her voice as if she remembered. Don’t tell me …… you’ve forgotten!?

“I-It’s okay …… I’ll tell them that I’ve gone to Lars’ house to play …… They’ll think I’m staying over ……”

“W-What do it do!? L-Lars-kun, can I say that I stayed over at your house too–“

When I said that, Makina said “What?” quietly, and Makina said quietly. Then, right after.

“I’m here, you know.”

“The headmaster, Tigre-sensei, and Verna-sensei are here too, you know? …… Have your parents scold you properly.”

Makina gulped and hanged her head.

When the meal was over, Flugel-san and the others retreated back into the audience room to talk with the King. As they left, they said they would meet again and would return later.

Well then, now that we’ve rescued Verna-sensei, let’s head back to the town of gust!
