Everyone had a day off after the farewell banquet.

Those with a better relationship with Yao Yuhua sent him and Liu Xingyun to the airport. On the way, Yao Yuhua once again expressed his respect for Jiang Dao, and promised that if he came across a good script in the future, he would definitely find him.

Helpless and unwilling to tell anyone he didn’t want to be popular, Jiang Dao could only feign obedience and nod.

Seeing Yao Yuhua’s satisfied face, and the assistant director and lead makeup artist also smiling. Jiang Dao suddenly realized – he shouldn’t have been tricked by Chu Yinlong, right?

With his entire social network in the entertainment industry, can he really leave and be at ease alone?

“Why are you looking at me?” Beside him, Chu Yinlong was alert.

“It’s nothing,” Jiang Dao half-squinted his eyes. “I just felt that you might be a good hunter.”

Chu Yinlong looked at Jiang Dao with a puzzled expression on his face.

He recalled for a moment to make sure that he was really not drunk last night, did not sing, did not tell jokes, and did not use alcohol to pretend to be drunk to do anything that he longed for but kept it boxed up.

Thanks to his childhood practice and self-discipline over the years, his self-control is very good, so he managed to stubbornly suppress the volcano in his heart that was about to erupt, after his irrational behaviors, and eventually rein it in.

When he left the temple, what did his master say?

“Go, your fate with the Buddha is only up to here. Your nature is playful and you have desires, so it’s not good to stay here. Fortunately, your heart is good, so even if you can’t control it one day, your desires will not harm others or yourself.”

Chu Yinlong once thought that the “desire” in his master’s mouth referred to his desire to seek danger and excitement, as well as his ambition to leave his footprint in this world.

He never thought that it could be understood in the literal meaning.

The next day, the action scenes of “Operation Red Owl” began shooting.

Except for the last melee in the rainforest, the other scenes were almost all dazzling clips of Chu Yinlong’s solo fight. The scenes varied from easy to difficult, and they focused on the easy ones first. Only on-the-ground scenes were shot, so there was no need for extra props.

Chu Yinlong’s solo action scenes are always reliable, and few repetitions are needed. Filming proceeded steadily until after four o’clock in the afternoon, when the clouds seemed to darken, harkening the change in weather. The crew quickly got ready, waited for the rain to fall, and then switched to shooting the rainforest melee scene.

This scene is a relatively important scene for Jiang Dao, and also the first time he directly faced Chu Yinlong on the set.

The clip to be shot today is near the end of the final battle. Both sides have run of bullets, leaving them no choice but to engage in hand-to-hand combat – the protagonist Wei Jie tries to stop He Zhenhai who is about to escape, but is blocked by Jess who suddenly rushes out. In the torrential rain, the two scuffle and roll into a water-filled gully.

There are no lines in this scene. From the start to end, it is a purely physical confrontation.

Jess’s eyes were indifferent, his face ruthless and cold as he stopped the anxious Wei Jie with a knife. Wei Jie blocked the blade with the empty bullet in his hand, and deftly avoided Jess’s leg sweep, trying to escape, but is entangled by Jess’s grappling skills and could not escape.

Jiang Dao was following Chu Yinlong’s fists and foot movements based on the scripted actions. Suddenly forced to inhale water, he subconsciously took a heavy breath to avoid choking.

Chu Yinlong reluctantly retracted his hand: “…start again.”

Jiang Dao raised his hand: “Sorry, my fault.”

The two returned to the starting position, and Chu Yinlong asked in a low voice, “You didn’t choke, right?”

Jiang Dao shook the water on his body: “It’s okay, come again.”

The second shooting passed smoothly.

The next thing to shoot is a water fight after the two fall into the gully.

Jiang Dao needs to hold Chu Yinlong and try to push him into the water, and then Chu Yinlong will use the terrain to flip them around and press him into the water.

There are a couple of scenes between the previous action scene and this one, so they had to change styling first. Chu Yinlong changed into clothes with a cut on his chest, and a few bruises were added to Jiang Dao’s face.

After finishing their makeup, the rain had not stopped, and the two stood on the small slope beside the gully to get ready.

“This shot is a bit dangerous,” Chu Yinlong reminded. “If you feel uncomfortable after entering the water, pat me twice in a row, and I will let go.”

“Understood.” Jiang Dao nodded. His eyes stared at the fake knife wound on Chu Yinlong’s chest for a moment, before he turned around and pursed the corners of his mouth.

“Start.” The assistant director hit the clapper.

Jess grabbed Wei Jie’s shirt suddenly, raised the dagger in his hand and stabbed him in the chest. Wei Jie grabbed the wrist holding the knife, but staggered forward from the momentum, and fell to the pothole with water.

Fortunately, there was a dead branch nearby, Wei Jie defended another of Jess’s stabs, causing the blade to land elsewhere. Taking advantage of the gap, Wei Jie pressed Jess’s neck, changing positions, and shoved him under the water.

The water battle scene was so thrilling that the assistant director didn’t dare to drag it out, so he immediately called to stop.

Chu Yinlong slid his fingers back, and instantly lifted Jiang Dao by the back of his neck, his eyes full of concern: “Are you okay?”

Jiang Dao wiped his face and said with a smile, “It’s okay. Is it over?”

“Let’s take a look first.” Chu Yinlong, who doubled as the director, got up and walked to the screen behind the camera, leaning over to review the scene that was just filmed.

After watching the angles captured by the multiple cameras, Chu Yinlong’s face was not very good: “One more time, my bad.”

He took a slow breath, exhaled it short and forcefully, and glanced at Jiang Dao: “Sorry.”

Jiang Dao shrugged and smiled at him indifferently.

The second scene didn’t satisfy Chu Yinlong either.

This time, even the assistant director could see something was wrong: “Xiao Chu, why do I think your actions are weak? There wasn’t enough force to push Jess into the water, and the water splash seems a little fake.”

The second camera is a close-up, which can reveal many details.

Chu Yinlong sighed, raised his hand and rubbed his brows, and repeated, “One more time.”

The third time was far from satisfactory.

Looking at the picture on the screen, a battle between heaven and man raged in Chu Yinlong’s heart for a long time, before he finally sighed and looked straight at the muddy Jiang Dao: “Sorry, we have to do it again.”

Jiang Dao let the stylist help him brush the mud off his face, and responded with a smile: “No problem.”

The fourth shot was finally satisfactory.

Chu Yinlong breathed a sigh of relief, raised his eyes and looked not far away.

The mud on Jiang Dao’s body was washed away by the rain. He gently touched the red pinch mark on his neck with one hand, and raised his other hand so the medical nurse could help him clean the scratch on his elbow.

The scratches are not severe, but the redness is dazzling.

“It’s getting dark, the lighting is not good.” Chu Yinlong suddenly announced. “The rest of the scenes will be shot tomorrow.”

“Ah?” The assistant director was confused as he looked up at the clouds. “The lighting is okay. We can shoot two more scenes. Let me see… There is a fight in the water later that doesn’t need anything extra.”

Chu Yinlong: …

After a moment of silence, he calmly said: “There were too many NGs just now, my legs are a little cramped.”

The assistant director was taken aback: “Ah! The doctor, where is the doctor? Come and see!”

An injury that Chu Yinlong can admit to must not be too light. He’s a master who dared continue filming even with a fractured bone in a cast!

The medical staff hurried forward, pressed Chu Yinlong on the chair, then began the examination. Chu Yinlong cooperated to describe the location and degree of pain, and finally was recommended “resting for a night to observe the situation” from the doubtful doctor’s mouth.

Thus ended the shooting, and the entire crew set off on the bus.

Back at the villa, Jiang Dao helped Chu Yinlong, who had “leg cramps”, into the room, closed the door, and stuffed him into the armchair.

“Okay, no need to pretend.” He folded his arms with a smile on his face. “What’s the matter? Emperor Chu, who’s unafraid of blood and tears actually pretended to be sick?”

Chu Yinlong frowned, refusing to admit anything: “It’s not a pretense.”

Squatting down, Jiang Dao stared at Chu Yinlong with narrowed eyes.

“Well… I don’t believe you. You got up and walked off set yourself. Your leg is obviously very flexible, so how’d you suddenly get a cramp? According to the degree of pain you described, you should have been lying on top of me, unable to get up.”

Chu Yinlong opened his mouth, and finally did not say anything to refute, and smiled wryly.

Jiang Dao looked at Chu Yinlong’s face, his voice was low and gentle: “Are you tired?”

Chu Yinlong raised his eyes, slammed into Jiang Dao’s concerned eyes, and heard the boy in front of him say: “After filming, you need to review the scene, and discuss with the assistant director and the cameraman how to improve it. You must be more tired than me…”

After speaking, Jiang Dao raised his mouth and asked with a smile, “Do you need me to comfort you? A hug?”

Desires bred wildly in his heart. His throat bobbed, and without thinking Chu Yinlong raised his hands and gently wrapped his arms around Jiang Dao’s waist.

A very brief hug.

Chu Yinlong quickly pushed Jiang Dao away and tugged at the corner of his clothes: “Go take a shower, and change your clothes. There’s a layer of mud on you.”

“Tsk!” Jiang Dao was speechless. “I kindly comfort you, yet you dislike me! Teacher Chu, your hair is full of mud, but you can’t wash it yet — because I’m going to use the bathroom first!”

As he said that, he ran into the bathroom.

In the armchair, Chu Yinlong exhaled a long breath.

After a long while, when the sound of the water in the bathroom stopped, he suddenly realized that something was wrong.

Jiang Dao opened the bathroom door a crack, and stuck out a wet head. His cheeks were red with steam.

“I’m sorry, Teacher Chu. I forgot to bring my clothes again, and the bath towel is outside. Can I trouble you to pass them over?”
