Episode 14

1 hour and 45 minutes remaining

　Himari, Rand, and I head up the stairs, in that order.

　There was a twisting sound of a doorknob. Himari probably turned the doorknob.

　Apparently, I was correct. She messes with it a little more and clarifies it’s locked.

　I have an impression that she’s not very happy about this new obstacle. She’s grunting like a chimpanzee.

“What are you doing, isn’t it locked?”

“We can possibly break it, but I’m scared of the consequences.”

“OK. Break it. We can think about it when we have the time.”

I suppose Rand has the right idea.

“My specialty is suture magic..”

“Suture…. I can only use flame magic, in regards to anything that could help. I can only melt the doorknob.”

　If that’s the case–

“Leave it to me.”

“Huh?”

I nudge my way past the others and get a solid grip on the door.

　I pull as hard as I can and the deadbolt breaks along with the door knob, which gets broken clean off into several pieces.

“OK, it’s open.”

“You.. you just pulled it and broke it?”

“Yes.”

“I’m surprised. Physical strengthening magic is intermediate level magic.”

　I don’t use physical strengthening magic. I broke it with pure strength.

　However, this misunderstanding does not have to be corrected. Let’s just say I used physical strength for the sake of not having to go through the process of explaining what I can do.

I bang on the door, hoping to rouse anyone who didn’t hear the door knob and deadbolt being destroyed..

　There is no reaction.

　I opened the door a little and checked the inside. There is no one.

　We’re lucky. We enter the faculty office and examine the desks lined up from one end to the other.

　Me and Rand approach a map that floats in the air (it looks like it floats in the air because it’s being held by a transparent Himari)

“You don’t have to take the map. I’ll remember the place.”

　Everyone sees the map that Himari has opened.

　On the map, White Tiger is clearly marked.

“This is… bad. It’s a long way north of here, and it’ll take two hours to run.”

“Ugh !? Seriously !!”

“Let’s talk later. Let’s get out of here. If anyone comes, I’ll-“

　There was a rattling sound of a door opening.

It seems there’s an intruder.

　The footsteps echo.

They couldn’t have picked a worse time.

　The place where we are is under the desk farthest from the door. There is a window in front, so in case of emergency we have to jump out of the window.

　Everyone should be panicking, but they don’t speak out. It’s a wise decision.

　It’s not good to be impatient here, to be quiet and to let them pass through the place is our only option.

“Hmm? I smell… youth.”

　It’s a voice that sounds like sandpaper upon wood.

“One is dainty, sweet and has a scent of a royal. Girl, who also use high-quality shampoo. The other has a healthy sweet scent and seems to have good metabolism.”

　Damn it.

　Himari agrees with my suggestion.

I wasn’t being brave or something. I’m just not stupid. I know I’m best to hold them off and we can’t waste that much time here

　Himari re-veiled me with the magic of transparency.

　The footsteps get faster.

　The footsteps of Himari and Rand head toward the window.

　I kicked out as hard as I could into the air.

　This guy- is he the one from that time with Cerberus.

　A black cloaked teacher who was Cerberus’s in the exam. It’s Garadoon.

“Do you dare rebel? Interesting!”

　Garadoon guards from my kick with a thick textbook in his hand.　The window opened and I heard the sound of two people jumping.

“…Escape”

　Garadoon shoves his hands inside of his cloak.

What is that?

In his hand there is origami. 

　The teacher in the black cloak throws two origami papers folded in the shape of a bird.

“[Forfgelt]”

　When the teacher shouts, magic circles and spells engraved on the origami bird appears.

　The origami becomes veiled in a black mist and transforms. They became a bird-shaped demon beast. I wonder how this is going to go.

　I catch the bird demon beast from behind as it tries to chase after Rand and Himari

　I grab the neck of the bird with both hands and squeeze it.

　Black blood flows from the broken neck of the origami beast.

How long..?

　It takes 4 minutes and 45 seconds to release the transparency.

　1 hour and 40 minutes until the end of the game.

　We don’t have time for this!

“I’m glad you stayed. I think I’ll really enjoy this!”
