He’s Just a Bad Boy

In short, ‘The Original Second Evil’ was a story about a villain who happened to be possessed by the main character. The protagonist had been an ordinary sociopath until she took on the role of the villainess named Christine.

The story development went like this — after being possessed by the villain, she struggled to survive, but unexpectedly, she was woven into the perfect example as the heroine, the female lead, and villain of the original story.

Although she became a guide, most people say that the only flaw it had was the age difference.

This was the brief summary of the story before the main character possessed “Christine”.

Catherine, the original heroine and the queen of Noah’s empire, who was born after 500 years, celebrates her coronation day at the age of 10, and the main characters and Christine (crowned princess) were gathered together and caught in an unexpected event.

During the banquet, a temple guide who received her fortune deliberately provoked the power of the young Duke of Janus (the original second villain), who then went wild.

It could have been a big accident, but it ended with the appearance of the guide, Christine McQueen, who had not yet been possessed by the modern-day human being at the time.

Later, Christine became a guide to the Duke of Janus, condescendingly accumulating karma, and suddenly committed suicide a month before she became an adult, saying she wanted to attract the Duke’s attention. A human soul from the modern world occupied her body after her death.

“But why is the Duke here, instead of being in the palace?”

Thirty seconds after she dropped her master into the well, her head started spinning faster than ever.

Why was the guy that Christine should have saved, stuck in the well?

She couldn’t understand how the original story, which had nothing to do with her, suddenly became different. But that wasn’t important now.

“My God, is he dead?”

There’s no way the great Duke of Janus would be killed by an empty wooden basket.

She gulped as she looked into the dark well. The gray-haired man seemed to be dragging his feet in the well.

“He wouldn’t have died, but he must have been hurt somewhere.”

She knew of a man in her hometown who had been imprisoned for giving a small scratch to a baron’s arm. He was tortured to death in a miserable way for injuring the body of a nobleman.

If he was alive, he would somehow climb up from the well and try to find her. As if that fact wasn’t scary enough.

“I have to kill him so that he doesn’t find me.”

She carefully weighed the large iron kettle.

Alas, it was time for her to bid farewell to her simple future plans.

She was worried for a moment.

In novels consisting of villains, it went without saying that extras had to help someone in need. Whether it’s the female lead, the male lead, or the villain.

Since it came to this, she had to try and seduce the villain, just like how Christine did after she was possessed.

She might not be able to get over it completely, but she might be able to make the Duke lower his guard for a while and then make a run for it.

Well, what did Christine say to him after the event happened?

[“I like the Duke just the way he is.”]

Because of her words, the crazy duke appeared in the middle of the night in a bloody state.

[“You said you like me just the way I am. I love you, too. You will never… You won’t leave me, will you?”]

Ugh, you’re hopeless.

Just die.

Betty closed her eyes tightly and threw the heavy iron kettle into the well.

“Aaah!”

Ignoring the loud sound heard in the well, she took to her heels.

She would run away and never come back to this mansion, ever again.

Even if somebody called her name from behind, it wouldn’t be much of a problem. Because ‘Betty’ was a common name that at least ten people would respond to. However, just to be safe, she’d change her name. Megan Ann. Or something like that.

Heading through the back door to the people’s passageway, she went straight up to the attic, the accommodation of low-ranking maids. No one paid any attention to her, as they were all busy with their chores.

The empty room was strewn with bedding and clothes that the lazy maids had not organized. Firstly, she packed the envelopes containing the salary she had received so far. Then she searched through the scattered clothes one by one.

She wondered if she should steal something. This was wrong, but she was about to start her life again at the age of ten without any proper connection. Moreover, she was not in a position to make people pity her.

‘The jewellery can be tracked, so I should focus on cash.’ She murmured to herself.

While she was picking up a coin, she heard a voice behind her.

“You are such a cold-blooded woman.”

A big hand pressed her head against her chin.

Without a second thought, she shouted, “Argh! Sorry!”

In an instant, an arm popped in between her armpits and both of her feet were lifted off the ground. The man’s blazing red eyes met hers.

The red eyes facing hers in the dark room where the lights were not turned on properly were creepy enough. However, the dark red blood flowing down his head, made those eyes look fiercer.

“You monster! You could’ve killed me!” She was shaking while taking in the

villain-like person. He looked at her carefully and asked. “How old are you?”

She gulped down and replied in the calmest voice she could, “Fourteen.”

It was obviously a lie. There was no way it would work.

But there was a reason she had to at least try to lie about being fourteen, even if it could lead to her death. Because according to the imperial law, no matter what financial struggles they had, no child below the age of fourteen was allowed to work. Even though the law was made to protect children from labor exploitation, most people found it pointless and lied about their ages to find jobs just like she was doing.

However, a nobleman like the Duke of Janus could not know about this situation.

“You’re 14?”

When questioned, she corrected herself in a shaky voice.

“No, thirteen.”

“…….”

“Twelve.”

“…….”

“Ele- Eleven.”

“…….”

“Ten….”

“I don’t recall asking you to recite numbers backwards. I thought I asked you how old you were. How old are you?”

Even though she was down to her real age, she sensed she still looked suspicious. She replied in a rather loud voice, “Yes, I’m 10 years old!”

“Stop lying, you vermin. You’re not 10 years old.”

Right then, Meg suddenly burst the door open and gasped, “Betty! You got me in trouble with the chef! I sent you to get me some water, and this is really…”

Meg’s face, which was full of shock, quickly turned blue as the boy roughly swept through his gray hair tangled with blood. It was the first time in a long time that both of them saw the owner, the Duke of Janus, but she was quick to grasp the situation. Meg quickly lowered her head.

She strutted out with Betty, as if helping her on her way out. While clinging to the air and struggling, Meg, who quietly stepped back to one place and bowed her head, caught a glimpse.

“Bring the butler.”

“Yes, yes!”

The boy, who was barely fifteen, growled like a beast.

It’s good to see from afar. I want to see all the main characters in the original story at least once.

This had been a futile wish of hers. However, right now, she was so scared that she couldn’t even see how beautiful he was.

She searched her pockets tearfully and fished her salary bag. She found the dried poison weeds that she had prepared in case an emergency occurred, and in a flash she threw them into her mouth and began to chew on them. According to the only pharmacist in her hometown, these weeds could give her a painless death, akin to falling asleep. It was better than being beaten to death for inflicting an injury on an aristocrat.

“Hey! What are you chewing on? Spit it out, quick!”

The little peacock, who had narrowed his eyes in anger, mumbled angrily and hastily put his finger in her mouth.

“Did you intend to go through with this? Spit it out when I’m saying it nicely. Aren’t you going to spit it out?”

“I don’t want to!”

Yuck.

His fingers went deep into her throat. She held back her nausea, but in vain.

She wanted to bite the Duke’s hand, but the boy was too strong. He was holding both of her cheeks and forcibly keeping her mouth open.

She held back her tears, but eventually sat on the floor and threw up. Apart from the dried poisonous weeds, she had only eaten a piece of bread with jam, so all that was left in her stomach was some gastric juice that disgusted her.

Once this life ends, she decided, she was going to find the man who incarnated her into this hell and kill him herself. She started giggling at this thought. There was nothing more to spit out. She fell to the floor near the vomit, hitting her head on the marble and passing out cold.
