After finishing their meal, the two tidied up their lunch boxes, and Fei Xiu picked them up to find a trash can.

Jun Ye entered the newly acquired terminal number and secretly changed the contact name. Turning off the terminal, he looked back to see Fei Xiu hesitantly approaching. He called out, “I’ll walk you back to your dorm.”

Fei Xiu silently followed beside Jun Ye, wanting to say something but unable to find the words.

Jun Ye had already located the dormitory building for Mecha Class 2 while waiting for Fei Xiu to finish his exercises. Seeing Fei Xiu’s hesitance, he deliberately asked in surprise, “What? Did I go the wrong way?”

Fei Xiu was too embarrassed to admit that he was still thinking about their kiss. Although Jun Ye was leading them down a small path, the direction was correct. He could only shake his head and say, “No, it’s the right way.”

After speaking, he felt even more stifled. Where was the promised kiss? Was Jun Ye planning to go back on his word?

Fei Xiu’s youthful face still held a hint of innocence. Seeing his expression, Jun Ye found it amusing. He wanted to ruffle Fei Xiu’s hair but realized that not only was Fei Xiu taller by a half head, but he was also wearing a neatly positioned military cap. Instead, Jun Ye opted to reach out and hold Fei Xiu’s hand, giving his warm palm a gentle squeeze.

Fei Xiu’s face instantly flushed, and he turned his head to the side, hoping Jun Ye wouldn’t notice.

Despite having shared many intimate moments in the past, the change in appearance and context made Fei Xiu feel like a lovestruck teenager, blushing and heartbeat quickening at a mere hand-holding.

It was during the post-breakfast dormitory cleaning time, and Jun Ye had chosen a quiet path, encountering few people along the way.

Just as they were about to turn a corner, mere steps from the dormitory entrance, Fei Xiu suddenly turned and pinned Jun Ye against the gray brick wall.

The world spun, and in that moment, there was only the two of them.

“Oh, are you trying to force a kiss out of me?” Despite being the one pinned, Jun Ye didn’t panic. He tilted his head slightly, looking at Fei Xiu with calm amusement.

Against the backdrop of gray bricks, the fair-skinned Omega looked as soft and enticing as cotton candy.

Fei Xiu felt a strong urge, bending slightly to catch a faint whiff of the sweet scent of information pheromones, a scent he knew all too well.

“You said… we’d start with a kiss,” Fei Xiu murmured, his fingers tentatively brushing against Jun Ye’s cheek. His movements were gentle, ready to withdraw at the first sign of rejection.

“Student Xiao Xiu, your thoughts are problematic,” Jun Ye replied with a mock-serious expression, adopting the demeanor of a teacher reprimanding a student, yet he made no move to stop Fei Xiu’s advances.

Fei Xiu watched Jun Ye’s expression carefully, noting the Omega’s relaxed demeanor. Feeling emboldened, he nuzzled his cheek against Jun Ye’s, seeking approval. “Are you really not going to kiss me?”

Jun Ye gently embraced Fei Xiu, tilting his head to make the nuzzling more comfortable, though he furrowed his brows in an exaggerated show of indecision.

Fei Xiu, encouraged, slid his hand around Jun Ye’s waist, but his ears picked up the sound of approaching footsteps. He froze.

Jun Ye also heard the footsteps. He patted Fei Xiu’s back, signaling him to stand up straight, then stepped aside to a more appropriate distance, speaking softly, “Let’s head back for now. I’ll be around school all day. I’ll come find you tonight.”

“Am I your secret lover? Or just someone you flirt with casually?” Fei Xiu’s lips pressed into a thin line, his lashes casting shadows over his eyes.

Jun Ye sensed Fei Xiu’s dissatisfaction, a bit surprised by his reaction.

Fei Xiu probably thought, “I got nervous when I heard someone coming, but you can’t push me away. Pushing me away means you don’t acknowledge me, that I’m just a hidden plaything.”

Jun Ye seriously explained, “I don’t have a habit of flirting casually, nor do I have any lover who needs to be hidden. Being together means being prepared to spend a lifetime together. It’s just that we haven’t yet achieved that in this world.”

“I’ve never divorced or broken up with my partners. You should know that,” Jun Ye said, looking deeply into Fei Xiu’s eyes.

“How would I know that…” Fei Xiu replied, clearly feeling a bit unsure.

Jun Ye watched as a few students walked away, glancing back every few steps. He then checked the time on his terminal before continuing, “My status has long rendered external opinions irrelevant. People have called me a vampire, a serial killer. Everyone who has been with me hasn’t escaped the so-called five-year curse.”

Hearing this, Jun Ye smiled faintly, causing Fei Xiu to fall silent. Fei Xiu had always thought that the five-year cycle of death and rebirth was his problem, inadvertently causing the Omega to bear his burdens. Knowing that the Omega didn’t mind didn’t lessen his guilt and confusion upon hearing it directly.

Jun Ye still maintained the distance between them, speaking gently while keeping an eye on the time. “I’m not affected by it. What about you, Xiao Xiu? You’re still a student, surrounded by classmates daily. Gossip about dating the principal, especially one accused of causing their lovers’ deaths every five years—doesn’t that bother you?”

Fei Xiu pondered for a moment before hesitantly saying, “But dating the principal… isn’t that super cool?”

Jun Ye raised an eyebrow. “???”

Fei Xiu started counting on his fingers, mumbling, “The principal is my backer. Teachers and instructors wouldn’t dare punish me. No matter what my classmates say, they’d be incredibly jealous inside. I’d be untouchable in school, with an Omega who’s wealthy, powerful, and stunningly beautiful. I actually stand to gain a lot!”

Jun Ye was speechless.

“Xiao Xiu, is there something wrong with your way of thinking?” Jun Ye sighed, rubbing his forehead.

“I only have one problem now.” Fei Xiu stepped closer, closing the gap between them. He looked intently at Jun Ye and asked, “Are we really together? Dating? In a relationship?”

“Yes, having second thoughts?” Jun Ye replied.

“Of course not, but… Is it really because I helped you open a bottle of water?” How can you get into a relationship so easily with a stranger?!

After their banter, Fei Xiu felt much clearer-headed. He wasn’t just thinking about how to start with a kiss. He quickly realized something was off. The Omega agreeing to be with him from their first meeting to “being together” was too quick and casual, like child’s play.

“Of course not.” Jun Ye returned Fei Xiu’s words to him, glancing at the time again.

Fei Xiu persisted, “Then why…”

Jun Ye stopped checking the time and casually said, “Maybe it’s because you remind me a lot of my first partner, my second partner, and even my third partner.”

Fei Xiu was stunned. “Oh…”

“And also…” Jun Ye raised his hand, showing Fei Xiu the terminal. “Xiao Xiu, if you don’t head back to your dorm to tidy up, you’re going to be late for class.”

Fei Xiu’s eyes widened. “?! Have I been found out?!”

“Your dear lover doesn’t want to chat idly anymore and sends you a kiss of condolences.” Jun Ye stood on his tiptoes, lightly brushing Fei Xiu’s cheek with his lips.

Fei Xiu stood frozen.

“See you tonight.” Jun Ye patted Fei Xiu’s face and walked away gracefully.

“…” Fei Xiu watched the Omega leave, speechless.

—Could you at least tell me how you recognized me….
